Hi All!

Just reminding you all that NaNiWriMo is on once again, head here

If you haven't heard of it before, the idea is that you write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.

I tried last year and epically failed, but I know that some other people from this Forum completed it (I hope...)

Annnnd...I'm not going to do it this year because it would be too much effort and November is going to be realllly busy for me.

Enjoy!

Also, congratulations to Cenere on 50k. I know at least one other person here's shooting to finish (yes, KR, I'm looking at you), so make a break for it!

Yeah, tomorrow afternoon is write write write! Non stop writing. And the good thing is that if I am a bit behind I have the 30th off of school (I HOPE) so I can finish then!

WILL NO ONE WRITE THEIR NANO NOVEL IN FOOD?!?!?!

I think somebody in my region was willing to pay good money to see somebody try to carve theirs in stone tablet.

Imma tired... *rubs face*
I would like to see someone writing their story with words cut out from newspapers and magazines. It would be awesome AND cool looking.

Ease up Gantic, you're scaring the NESBs :P

Define NESB. Clearly their English is up to par. Listening to enough broken English from East Asians and Eastern Europeans (and East Asians and Eastern Europeans communicating with each other through English), I say their English is leagues better and is proficient enough to survive in an English-speaking community.

I might just NaNo over Thanksgiving to chill (also cause two of you are done), but I'm really not up for doing much creative writing when my brain won't start most of the time. I am not looking forward to December.

I wish that I had a Thanksgiving break, that would be so good right now. Anyone know why my phone is doing double spaces?

Don't be so difficult, just coz you have a natural hostility to equine folk and their fancy ballet!

...on the internet?

Not that this is anything more than a mere academia, but something is always lost in translation. At least, my NESB jibe is an in-joke reference to conversations I've had with the relevant people on the topic.

Just gonna admit here that you guys have managed to seriously confuse me with the last couple of pages...

I consider my English quite good for a Dane. But then there's how you guys write and it makes my verbal skills want to crawl up on a ledge and curl into a scared little ball of despair.

Cause we're obviously overcompensating for the lack of understanding of our "native" language.

Define Internet. :P

Well, Bullman, while your assessment may have been most reasonable, with Zophia's admission, I guess this round goes to me! *obnoxious pirouette*

No. I know I've left myself wide open :P

...fine. I actually meant "English-speaking text and image-based forums" >_>

Oh, crap, almost forgot to gloat about other stuff:

Validation's now open for just about everybody. And, as my region ML points out, even if you're sitting on a big fat zero right now, you only need to write about 420 words an hour to make it from here. Or, if you enjoy sleeping, eating, and taking toilet breaks, somewhere around 700. Makes it sound totally do-able, huh?

That was why I had to think up a jab at myself that would take you down too. :P

It's the small victories that matter most.

Yes it does. I have amazing abilities to make up the word count. In fact, I just finished a 10 page paper in the matter of 8 hours, but actually it's 6 pages because not only did the file AND the backup get corrupted the day I had to turn it in, the last uncorrupted file was from last month, and I needed to dig up all of the references but I also ran out of paper for my printer followed by a bunch of other problems. Ironically, I woke up that morning joking that I'd lose everything if a virus managed to take over my laptop during my sleep. Oh, the irony is hilarious, I'm just wondering if the consequences were worth it.

Hey guize, should I try to go for 39,762 words in 5 days or less? Or wait till next year? This is the first subatantial stretch of free time I've had since early November . . . .

Thanksgiving is the best time for stuffing your novel. You stuff your turkeys, stuff your face, stuff your stomach overfull, and forget to stuff your novel because it's a four day holiday in the States where you actually have stuff to do instead of stuffing your novel. I have a longer way than you to go and I'm gunning it.

I strategically ignored it and sacrificed tact for faux-magnanimity :3

OH SNAP!

Never tempt the computer. It will accidentally the whole document.

You guys get Chris Baty's last email? Final rush is not only do-able, it's totally what about half the participants do. Whether you make it to the 20% or so that actually complete the NaNo challenge is another matter entirely!
