WAIT STOP! Don't be the mod that doesn't read these things, it's not about locked threads-fully. (if you are a mod/admin that is)

Okay, you all know we have locked threads that accumelate, and i though why not delete them? We don't have that many anymore, due to our like every 10 year sweep we have. I know I have already made a thread like this, but I couldn't find it (i think it died). So anyways. If we could delete SOME of the topics (not all of them, just keep the ones that "teach" a lesson). This might save some space for AG aswell as kill some lag.

Tell me what you think of my stupid idea! By the way, i might not comment as much on this one for a while... i have a science project to do. (and even worse my teacher lives in this neighborhood) Unless it's Saturday. No clue.

I don't care about points.

I do care about posts.

That's my statement.

Since you brought it back I'm backing up.

Also, as i said, it adds up.

Yes true, topics add up and blablahblah with the lag, but everything can add up. Users, games, you name it and if everything that added up caused lag and was deleted, guess what happens. I'm not sure if you've been here to realize this, but look at all the things that were removed because they supposedly called lag. Did AG get any better or add more things? No (If you don't count the ads).

So I really don't thing deleted these threads would do any good.

What? Does that have to do with this topic?

Woh.. we deleted stuff? Seems to me like their's still a good 233 pages to THIS FORUM. Never knew we deleted anything. other than the absurd content and stuff.

guess what happens.

It blows up? You told me to guess.

I'm not sure if you've been here to realize this, but look at all the things that were removed because they supposedly called lag.

Once again I never knew we deleted anything.

Did AG get any better or add more things?

Nope, because we didn't do anything.

No (If you don't count the ads).

That is true, we got lots and lots of more ads.

So I really don't thing deleted these threads would do any good.

Thing?

Revised and Edited by Language Arts Teacher:

So, I really don't think that deleting any threads will do any good.

Meh, how do you know-why not try it? delete the thousands of locked topics in the Newbie Forum, The repeats in the Game Forum, REPEATS EVERYWHERE! Delete the stuff in the last page where no one goes... And see what happens! Of course, why am I talking to you? I need a mod over here...

You were talking about deleting locked threads, no?

Delete locked threads, your points go away. Your posts go away. Forever.

You, sir, are not exempt from spilling correctly.

Also, I will not add anymore to what Strop said.

Alas, Gantic, it has come to the time where you should read my response to what "Strop" said. Strop seems to change everyday. And for that reason I have nightmares...

Muphry

What about Eddie?

Ok, so i have decided, due to the fact that my computer won't send this message, to sort of re-say what i said to "Strop":

Some mods do kill major pointless threads, yadayadayada. But those ones are the "no-no" threads. *cough* The repeats however most of you don't kill (or delete). They're pointless, right? Most of them are, but you pile them up saying, "They can be of some good use." That's WRONG! It's a lie! Well, most of the time it's a lie, but still! Now I had more to say, but i just ate food and now my memory has ran away.

You were talking about deleting locked threads, no? Delete locked threads, your points go away. Your posts go away. Forever.

Yes, I was talking about locked threads, and deleting threads, but not AT ALL about losing points. So.. you know. It just was sort of a random throw-in.

Deleted threads > Loss of posts > Loss of points

You cannot have deleted threads without the other two.

I sort of get where your coming from now, so I'll attempt to answer it, if I'm thinking of the right thing. If a topic is spam (that needs to be deleted), then you should not post a comment saying it's pointless, should be locked, etc. Your supposed to leave that to a mod./admin. So technically, everything in that section is spam for "joining" in. Mods take care of it lock it, and the cycle is finished. But if most of it is spam, more than likely only 2 or 3 people comment, so it doesn't matter if it is deleted. You only lose 1 post from that. I mean sure it adds up, but you should never comment on a spam thread without knowing that your comment could be deleted. Hopefully that answers whatever you wanted to know what good/bad would become of this.

Certain locked threads of that nature will inevitably have actual conversation come out of it.

If it's an obvious pathetic 'asfasfasdfsgf' OP, then there is nothing that would come out of it, then it's deleted anyways.

I don't think I want to spend the rest of winter break capitalizing your I's, so anyway....

I don't think your post answered mine at all.

Woh.. we deleted stuff? Seems to me like their's still a good 233 pages to THIS FORUM. Never knew we deleted anything. other than the absurd content and stuff.

The forums weren't touched during deletion. >
Oh noes!!! 233 pages in one section!! If you look at any other website, they have well over thousands of pages of threads.

Once again I never knew we deleted anything.

Nope, because we didn't do anything.

Maybe you want to say something better that supports your idea?

Also answer this:

Imagine is these threads were deleted. How do you think the everyone will respond? I really doubt they'd be like: "YESSS, FINALLY THOSE STUPID THINGIES ARE GONE FOREVA!!!!!"

Sorry for the absence, but this thread is back, for now.

I've never seen a locked thread with that much comments. Examples please...

True, but i'm going to narrow it down. More than likely they probably have a lot less posts in one page. The mods suck there. Also, we don't want to be "another site". It's because were not "another site". And we shouldn't be. Having less threads doesn't mean anything much, other than "we have less spam" things, but then again that's what we want right?

Also answer this:

ha, no they won't. but i think it makes things a lot more convenient, no? for example:
you find an awesome thread, forget the name and everything about it, you just remember it was awesome, having less pages always helps right? Again less lag, etc. HOw people respond? no clue, but i'm sure some people will be happy.

Now answer this:

What do you have against deleting some locked threads? Site will be shut down for a few hours (oh no) then we'll only have nice threads. I mean why do we need those stupid locked/ repeated threads anyways?

Non-Spam Picture Wars:

#2 Good!

#3 Bad!

#4 Bad

I think that there was a 5th too but me can't find.

I have sifted through the posts made in this thread and I can't get rid of the thing popping up in my mind every time I read a post...

People will get upset when locked threads are deleted, because a lot of posts, and with that the gained AP's, will be lost to them...

I know and understand what you mean midget2 (I wrote it the correct way with a small 'm', I remember you being enraged when written with a capital 'M'... ), but somehow I don't see any other benefit of it than the reducing of lag on this website. And with the current speed of the computers, it's not that much of a problem to gamers anymore...

And I've checked in on those examples you gave on good or bad threads, but how was the #3 picture war bad? All I saw was users having fun with it... :S Gave me a good laugh or at least a grin when I sifted through it....
