Hiya everybody, Moat here. And you all may have noticed that I haven't really been contributing much in the way of literature recently. But who can blame me? You wouldn't be writing stories or poems online either, if you were buried in as much homework as I am. *sigh*. But now I have decided it is time to kick my lazy butt into gear once again. So, without further ado, I present to you the poem that I would have submitted to the Poetry Contest, if I wasn't the new judge.
The theme is Our Environment.

Take a look around
What do you see?
Or listen to the sound
Of falling trees
You ask what's happening?
Only everything

The earth is falling down
Melting away, we will drown
Coming closer every day
But still all we can say
Is that it's okay...
And so we stay!

Look at our environment
A shattered testament
Of how we've been blind
Just standing in line
Waiting, watching
Doing nothing

And soon it will break
So for all of our sakes'
Stand up, go green
Shout out, make it clean
Don't submit to violence
To break through the silence

Just scream it
And make your voice heard
We're saving the birds
And the trees
And the pandas and these
Who can't speak for themselves
So tear down those shelves
Put up a fight
And all of the world will remember this night
As the night we all heard...
"ENVIRONMENT WILL SAVE THE WORLD!"

Hey, not very good, but not too awful. Not necessarily what I believe, but hey, it works doesn't it?
So, I would like some constructive criticism.

That is the only time I have ever had the cactus candy.

Go back and buy some seeds.

And make a REALLY dry spot in your backyard. Only water it every now and again. Keep it reminiscent of its homeland. Makes a happier plant.

I dont see how you can make a balcony into a suitable habitat for a prickly pear cactus.

55 gallon barrel and some dirt and you've got habitat. They aren't that big after all.
