That life is just a dream and once you die you wake up.

I have been wondering that for a long time now.

How about you?

I've thought of it, but only as a joke.

If life was a dream, then how would you be able to wake up? You would have no life to wake up in.

In my dreams I have dreamt and woken up.

If this life is a dream, then it's an extremely convoluted one and extremely vivid. I sincerely doubt this is a dream because in dreams, not everything makes sense, but we can find a way to explain most things, and for those things we can't, that's because we haven't found a way to yet. This isn't the matrix or anything, it's just life. P.S. People can die in dreams and not wake up, so dying doesn't always mean waking up

Hmm, that sure does make a lot of sense. [/sarcasm]

I guess you didn't understand my question. How can you dream when there's no life? If life's a dream, then that dream couldn't be real.

There's only one way I can see how life could be a dream, and that's if you have a life previous to the dream.

Again, and as stated by Kasic, if life were a dream, it would a very realistic one. Realistic as in being able to smell, taste, feel, and get hurt.

If life were a dream, then your previous life's dreams would have to fit all of those features listed above.

What if life was a dream of a dream???

Take this kiss apon the brow!
And in parting from you now,
This much let me avow
You are not wrong who deem,
That my days have been a dream.
And if all hope has flown away,
In a night or in a day.
In a vision or in none,
Is it therefor the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream?

Dream within a Dream Edgar Allen Poe

Yah, I've thought of that before. But hey, if this is a dream then real life must really suck. So...

Here's another thought, just to make this more confusing because im sure it wont sound as good on paper. When you dream about having a dream, are you dreaming in a dream or dreaming about dreaming? If so, what's the difference? If the dream is a dream, does an enclosed dream withen that dream still classify as a dream or would it be considered 2 dreams? But two dreams at the same time would be one dream, but when you wake up in the dream withen the dream you are still dreaming, so what is this? Have fun figuring out what I just posted, it is slightly confusing to me and I just wrote it.

You are definitely dreaming about dreaming. (I think) The difference is that dreaming inside of a dream is impossible, and dreaming of dreaming is possible. Each person can dream only once at a time. There is no dreaming inside of dreams. It's just sometimes we dream about dreaming. I hope that makes sense. (probably not, but whatever.)

dreaming inside of a dream is impossible,

Im not so sure about this. I once had a dream where I was at school, I went through the entire day and went home, then, in my dream, I woke up and the SAME THING happend, and then after that I truly woke up. I was so confused, I wasn't sure if it had been one night or 2 nights or if that had really happend until I asked what day of the week it was.

Solution: You dreamed yourself dreaming of going to school and then you woke up from your fake dream to continue your real dream. Dreams often feel like more time has passed than it actually has, so that's probably why you thought two days had passed.

But if it feels like it, then isn't it so? Generally, if something tastes like an apple, it's an apple. What makes a dream fake? In my dreams, it's always first person, I don't have any of those out of body experience things and I can think in my dreams, or at least it seems like I can, but when I woke up the first time I felt like I had woken up, then I went to school again came home and woke up again. I've had dreams also where not even 10 seconds passed and then I woke up and it was morning, time+dreams=no relative time.

I haven't wondered that, actually.
Because I'm not ****ing retarded.

One, you don't have to be so negative. Two, it's more of a question to get you thinking, not as a serious idea, at least it is for me... Anyways, do you think the big bang is retarted as well? It's another theory, unable to be proved or disproved as of yet, even when it may not make sense, that doesn't mean it can't be true. Im sure there were people like you in roman times, who thought that the earth being anything other than flat was complete bull.
