on joseph smith. who else but a prospector would find gold tablets, and who else but a christin mystic could decipher them?
on protestants. there were books ruled as not divine by the catholic church, so the protestants removed them in order to get to the root of purity. they did this because the catholic church was corrupted.
which bible is used by mormons to complement their book on mormonism, the protestant bible or the catholic bible?
As the whole thing started in America I am almost positive they were using the protestant bible. However the book of Mormon says the bible is flawed and wrong so it doesn't matter which bible they use in reality.
* 1 Esdras (Vulgate 3 Esdras) * 2 Esdras (Vulgate 4 Esdras) * Tobit * Judith * Rest of Esther (Vulgate Esther 10:4-16:24) * Wisdom * Ecclesiasticus (also known as Sirach) * Baruch and the Epistle of Jeremy (all part of Vulgate Baruch) * Song of the Three Children (Vulgate Daniel 3:24-90) * Story of Susanna (Vulgate Daniel 13) * The Idol Bel and the Dragon (Vulgate Daniel 14) * Prayer of Manasses * 1 Maccabees * 2 Maccabees
I myself have read the Daniel 13 and 14 and a tiny bit of one of the Maccabees. My last name in its original form is in Daniel 13.
My main problem with mormonism (and really every religion) is its timeline. Smith did his thing in the 1800s right? Therefore it would be impossible to be a Mormon before that time. Assuming belonging to the LDS church is necesarry to get into heaven (or the highest form of heaven), doesn't this kind of screw over everyone who died before this time? What about the ancient Egyptians? Do they all go to hell simply because they happened to be born 5000 years ago?
Those who did not know of the gospel at the times, which span from the death of Christ till the restoration, well, they got a free ticket bacause they didnt know the truth
Lucky break lol. But this doesn't apply to current times? So even if you have never heard of Mormonism, you still go to hell? That seems a little harsh. I am aware you don't believe in predestination (if I am wrong, please correct me), so how exactly does that work?
