Apparently.

I just happened to hear it on CNN, couldn't believe it. So I looked on the site and found the article http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/space/11/13/water.moon.nasa/index.html

What do you guys and gals think about that? What does it mean for the future of the Earth? Humantiy?

What I dont get is why scientists think aliens need water and air. They have already found a micro-organism that doesnt need water or air.

Does it eat rocks?

Dont know, all I know is it can live in space and under extreme pressure such as the bottom of the ocean.

An organism that doesn't need oxygen is anaerobic. Although I do not believe we have an organism that doesn't need water...plus they aren't looking for life on the moon, they are seeing if we could live there. There is no life there because there is no atmosphere

It probably creates food through fermentation. Organisms at the bottom of the ocean where there is no light for photosynthesis

It can live in space, but not for lengthy periods of time.

Yup.

so what if there is water on the moon, no oxygen and little atmosphere. i guess there could be other life but it wont really effect how we live.

For those of you who can't figure this out, water is made of oxogen thus there is oxogen on the moon...

Now for my other thing,
now we have a list:
Mars
Moon
TO be continued...

DO to the fact Amarica and NASA pretty much own space, Amarica will have to change from "sea to shining sea" to "star to shining star" and we will take over the universe then the president will nuke earth and take over the ruins after the nuclear dust settles... or atleast thats what I whould do...

I doubt anything will happen. We will send some people onto the moon to check it out and come back empty handed.I dont think it will make a big impact on us.

Im actually, genuinly surprised. We are given the image that NASA knows so much, people scoff at the idea of life on other planets, and we cant even find water on our OWN moon. Hmmm!

water on moon.. findings of an indian satellite. its actually hydroxide not water. its not h2o its ho

Im not one to trust a news website, but did you actually read the story, about an american launch from florida of the LCROSS satelite on june 18th 2009 that found what they say is water. The link is on the OP. Tho I wouldnt put it past CNN to lie a little bit.

Well mif they found water on the moon that could mean their is other life their.

There's no life on the moon. As far as I know, not even bacteria can survive on the moon. It's basically a giant rock floating through space.

You are actually quite foolish. The chance of a cell randomly forming on earth is 10^29345 power aka 1 with 29,345 zeros behind it, that's 586x the estimated impossibility, and your going to tell me life on the moon is possible?
