If you do not make the right choices in life, area of living, jobs, etc etc, you will end up poor and you deserve to die. Harsh? Indeed. Horrible? Of Course. True?
Survival of the fittest is a term used to explain why some species survive while others in evolutionary theory. It has no place in politics. Using it to justify exploitation is a lame excuse as humans aren't in a condition of survival.
Yes. I am against socialism, I do not want to support others when I need to support myself and my family. Why should I have to support morons who cannot live their lives correctly?
Socialism is not about taking away from others and giving to the poor.
Your way of thinking is very restricted.
Socialism is about the workers owning the means of production.
Capitalism has turned labor into an act of fetching for yourself to survive and thus changed the mindset of people. Labor is now tought to be a way for you to earn your wage and be able to survive in the world. It has turned men into wage-slaves and hidden the real cause of labor -- to produce for the needs of the workers.
Thus, the same concept would not apply under socialism.
Labor would not be done for profit but for the sake of its need; by the workers, for the workers.
The mechanics would greatly change and it would be incomparable to "taking away from the rich and giving it to the poor" in today's society.
And those who refused to work under a communist society would not be tolerated.
I do not care for the poor and/or hungry from other countries, just mine, because in the end we might have to fight Africa, and I would feel guilty for aiding them.
What? You don't care about humans other than those of of your own country? Racist? And its not only Africa where poverty exists, btw.
And what reason as a middle class person would you have for fighting Africa?
And btw, as said, 1/4 of the children in your own country are going hungry. To say the poor are simply lazy is shit.
Otherwise, are you a blind patriot that will support his countries imperialist act of attacking an underdeveloped nation?
@Firefly
the average living standards are higher than that of any other system which has been attempted in human history. These standards are still rising.
Not the best thing to say while were under a recession lol.
And I would argue that is because of the exploitative and imperialistic attributes of the US and other large capitalistic countries. The United States is able to be so wealthy because it takes the wealth from other countries.
I think the figure is that the United States owns 50% of the world's wealth?

"Americans constitute 5% of the world's population but consume 24% of the world's energy."
"Using latest figures available, in 2005, the wealthiest 20% of the world accounted for 76.6% of total private consumption. The poorest fifth just 1.5%:"
