For some disturbing reason, the only thing came to mind was that if you were a guy, depending on your positioning you could potentially wind up having sex with yourself.
I know where you're going with it though. If the portals were close enough, then you could reach out with your left hand and grab your right hand - if the space continued to close in, you wouldn't be able to occupy the space; unless the close proximity of the portals themselves would somehow collapse the portal.. in which case your body would be occupying the same space as the wall itself, which no doubt would have catastrophic consequences.
Any way it plays out, I think you'd wind up very dead.

But there is no.. 'faster and faster'. If you straddle the portal, you are literally on both sides of the portal at the same time - you're not continuing to travel through it.
If it was a one-way wormhole, I could see what you are saying - you're flying in one side and out the other, but the portals in question are two way, you could step in one way, and back the other way, or stand in the 'middle' so to speak. If the portals get close enough, they would start to push you into yourself.

Wouldn't this creat an infinite realm, because the portals would go into themselves, thus creating a void?
