Good movie, but it won't happen in here like it happend in there
That's why the movie falls into the "science-fiction" category rather than the "realism" category.
There really wasn't much to this movie. Basically, the whole movie was just an excuse to kill people in the most creative and yet somehow almost realistic way possible. The only good part of the movie was Woody Harrelson, and the director made the giant mistake of killing him too early on in the movie.
Needless to say, I'm never watching that movie again willingly.
I have a Short Example of what I think about the basis of the movie, and the 2012 theory itself. Oh No! Its december the 31'st! Whetever sould I do? Oh, I got it! I'll BUY A NEW CALENDAR
John Cusack fits better in roles in which he plays a more mild protagonist, such as he portrayed in High Fidelity; rather than the loud, nervous wreck he portrays in 2012, which just makes him look like a Tom Hanks wannabe.
Most of America's population, and this is probably true for the majority population of most other countries too, is consisted of idiots who know nothing about movies. The reason they liked it so much was because of the cool effects, rather than the actual storyline. Just a theory, but it seems logical.
I have to agree the movie pretty much sucked the only thing keeping it a float was the special effects and the fact it was about 2012. Otherwise the movie was weak along with the plot and characters.
