why do you work against nature?

Why do you insist that what humans do to animals is cruel?

We are doing what nature has programmed us to do, what we evolved to do, eat animals. we are predators, and we should be proud of it. the tiger got stealth and muscles. the snake got poison. we were handed a brain. with that brain we crafted fire, and with fire we made cooked food that was delicious, especially if we had just killed it outside of the cave.

So, as a shout-out to all vegetarians, STOP ROCKIN' THE BOAT

I've been vegetarian a few times in my life. I'll occasionally stop eating meat for a month or so as a method of detox. Even so, you can be vegetarian, meaning you just don't like to consume meat. Or VEGAN which is not using any animal products at all. You guys need to figure out the difference between the two.

My sister is a vegetarian....
I miss the smell of succulent steak roasting on the grill =(

any way, I really don't give a s*** about what you eat. As long as you don't force it on me... then I'm good.

I didn't see anyone confuse vegetarian with vegan, but I guess I didn't read all the posts.

Detox from the overly acidic diet that goes along with the consumption of large amounts of meat.

I tried going sub vegetarian once and only had stuff like fish or chicken but could not do it. Btw if you don't want to eat meat why make a veggie burger try to taste like cow?

With all the plants that an animal has to eat to mature it would conserve much more energy if we just grew crops instead of eating the meat and then would feed more people. I know a vegetarian that won't eat meat for that very reason.

And now I am craving hummus...

um, no, that wouldn't be smart at all.

there are certain proteins that meat and fish have that are unmatchable by plants.

You don't need 100 big macs a day to get that though. You don't even need meat everyday to get those. You need meat or those protiens like once every 2-3 days or so, if that. There is an overproduction in meat, but as long as there is surplus there will stay that. Eventually when there are so many people on this planet we will be forced to eat things lower on the food chain. Ever heard of the 10% rule? say there are 100 mice, 100 mice feed 10 cats, and 10 cats can feed 1 coyote. We are eating something above the plants, thus wasting energy in a sense. Just something to think about.

I never said you needed more than that. but being a vegetarian deprives your body of those nutrients.

just growing crops would eventually lead our species to extinction through all of the long-term effects of the loss of proteins.

And then 1 coyote kills 10 cows? And then 1 America goes hungry. Oh my God. We are all going to die!!!!!!

And fuck PETA.

I dont know about extinction because the amount of time it would take for that to happen something else would prully kill us before then. :P It would, however, lead to a loss of intellectual ability. Since it was eating meat, fish specifically, that made it so we are even able to think enough to even debate about this.

And fuck PETA

EXACTLY.
(In fact, recently it has been discovered that we are the descendents of a small 600-person population on the Southern tip of Africa, who, for hundreds of thousands of years, survived almost solely on seafood due to a drought.)

But yes, fish is something that can't be given up. through the whole mercury scare to most mothers who aren't eating fish during pregnancy, our children have had lower IQ's. (saw it on NPR, don't feel like looking for the source).

no real point tbh we already have much more than enough food to feed the world, its just that its not spread evenly and theres huge ammounts of waste
