It was Kenney Jones, formerly the drummer for The Faces, another great British hard rock group, and if you wanna hear one of the best songs he played on with The Who, try out "Don't Let Go the Coat"
I don't think I've heard of them. Care to give me a few hits Chaotix?
"Don't Let Go the Coat"
I like Pete Townshend's part in it, but the drums sound rather forced instead of relaxed and rhythmic. Kenney didn't stay long with them anyways. He was replaced pretty quick with Zak, I'm sure of that.
Linkin Park is an insult to music, plus they aren't even rock so I don't know why they are being mentioned in this thread. They are a combination of crappy emo music and rap. What a horrible combination.
Just wanted to point that out...I'm still thinking about what the best rock band in my opinion would be.
My foot. You're just saying that because Metallica is your preference. If we're talking which band is more musically talented, Dream Theater kills Metallica by a long shot. They actually write, to this day, *wink wink* amazing songs that actually have meaning. Metallica's old music is still great, musically and lyrically. But their new stuff just plain sucks. I will admit, Dream Theater's been kinda slacking with their lyrics, but their music is just as great now, if not better, than it was 20 years ago.
This group also had, among others Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and Ronnie Lane, great classic lineup, and they are probably one of the finest hard rock groups from Britain in the late 60's!
Thanks Chaotix, and after listening to those 3, "Stay With Me" is definietely my favorite as well. It has that classic rock edginess with that powerful melody that blends together perfectly. I going to look into more songs from this band.
"Miss Judy's Farm" I didn't quite understand as well as the other two though. It also seemed completely different from "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Stay With Me".
Well, is the name of this thread talking about the genre rock? Or just all bands in general? Because I'm seeing a few Metal, Grunge, and Alternative bands.
AC/DC. No rock album in the history of rock (no, MJ doesn't count) has sold more albums than Back In Black. They also came from Australia, and there's only one other band that I know of from Australia that made hits in America. I guess if you could have a runner up, then Pink Floyd would be it, because their music is great, and they have one of the high selling albums of all time.
