I'm not sure if this is allowed.I am under the impression that it is a bit of an unspoken rule to have an OP in another language, but I think that this is necessary to ascertain that people aren't really cheating. Not necessarily a real thread, more like a poll, and part of the poll is to have some of it in a foreign language. I'm just curious, lock if you must. If you speak the language, read and correspond accordingly. Instead of the saying the name of the language, I will say "this language" in each, so that any cheaters (Mind-Moat: *whacks flexi ruler against hand threateningly) will not be able to recognize what language to go to for a translator. Si vos narro is lingua, tunc narro "Ego narro is; Ego est callidus!" Als je spreekt deze taal, dan zeggen; "Ik spreek dit, ik ben slim!" Jos osaat tata kielta, sano "uhun tasta, olen viisas!" Si vous parlez cette langue, alors dire; "je parle ceci; je suis astuiceux!" Wenn sie diese sprache sprechen, dann sagen sie "Ich spreche dieses; Ich bin klug!" Right...soo...respond accordingly if you speak the languages, and if ya mods need to lock this, go ahead. No, before you ask, I am not a quinlangual(s?). I only speak Latin and English. I cheetzed. xP Every now and then, I'll change the code phrase... But before zis starts... Ego narro is lingua; Ego sum callidus!
*cough* Graham...somebody didn't read his instructions... Oh, really? Cool. Once you learn Latin, it becomes a lot easier to have a basic understanding of other languages because it's the base for almost all languages you will encounter. Like take for example, "terminus". It's Latin for "end". And I'm sure we all know the word "terminate" because of that doomsday show where the governor of California was a manslaughtering robot from the future? So yah, Latin is really handy.
Very well... Parlez(word 3):Talk Oh, cool. Er...not the mandatory part, but still. You don't have to be able to read every word. As long as you get the gist of it, you can do it. Let us see if you paid attention in that one year of Latin, shall we? Lego meus labiae; quis sum Ego narro iam? I forgot the word for "saying". I'm embarrassed in my own thread *hides face in shame*
*headdesk* I didn't read, did I. I don't really speak Finnish, but I recognize it when I see it. I should have said "Puhun tasta, olen viisas!" and "Ich spreche dieses; Ich bin klug!" though I haven't encountered the word klug in my German lessons so I don't know what that means :P Sorry if I ruined anyone's fun now
I tried. The translator put Swedish in Swedish characters, so no go. Same thing with Russian. =( Jos osaat tata kielta, sano "uhun tasta, olen viisas!" I think that's Finnish. Wenn sie diese sprache sprechen, dann sagen sie "Ich spreche dieses; Ich bin klug!" German.
