The 90's were a great year for music.... even if I was a little to young to appreciate it.

1. Blur: Amazing music and songs Parklife is one of my favourite song right now. Damon Albarn is brilliant on vocals.

2. Oasis: Just pushed out by Blur they don't have the range of styles Blur have but they have some amazing songs that I never get bored of listening too.... especially Cigarettes and Alcohol.

3. Pulp: C.ocker is a great frontman and I LOVE Common People.

4. Nirvana: My choices so far may have been part of a mevement to 'get rid of Gringe' but I love Nirvana.... the songs are nice the lyrics are amazing and Kurt is a great frontman.

5. The Verve: 4 amazing songs by a great band and one of them is my favourite song of all time.

Yes Alt, Pink Floyd had great albums in the 90's! I can't get enough of Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell. They're just awesome, 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. But they didn't make my cut. Another great band that didn't make my cut is Oasis. Noel Gallagher is great, and he has a very intellectual music mind (much like Alt), but they just missed the cut.

My Top 5
1. Pearl Jam - Ten and Vitalogy are two of the greatest albums of all-time, and Yield and No Code were great but misunderstood albums.
2. Nirvana - After Bleach was wishy-washy (that was an 80's album, though, so it doesn't count for this list), Nirvana broke into the music scene with Nevermind, one of the top 25 albums of all-time in my opinion. In Utero was great as well, but by then you could already tell the inevitable was going to happen sooner or later.
3. Foo Fighters - After moderate success with Foo Fighters, Nirvana's predecessor broke loose with Colour and the Shape, and launched itself further with Nothing Left To Lose. The band was a perfect complement of Nirvana, and its continued success into the 21rst century finally removed the ghost of Kurt Cobain from the band.
4. REM - being misunderstood early in the band's career, the band finally gained some recognition during the latter part of the 80's with Automatic for the People, and blossomed further with Out of Time and Man on the Moon in the 90's.
5. Red Hot Chili Peppers - After flopping on its first three albums, the Chilis gained some recognition with 1989's Mother's Milk, but still needed more commercial success to be considered a legitimate band. That came in the 90's, with 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which featured mega-hits Give It Away and Under the Bridge. The band's success furthered with "One Hot Minute", which featured mega-hit My Friends, and the band's success rocketed with 1999's Californication, which featured the hits Around The World, Scar Tissue, and of course, the title track.

What is this? A thread with people who have GOOD taste in music? I must participate.

1. Reel Big Fish - Probably been my favorite band for a while.

2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - A very close second. Been listening to them forever.

3. Buckethead - He is amazing, he gets a little dry sometimes though.

4. Beastie Boys - I don`t care what anyone says, the Beastie Boys are awesome.

I don`t really have a solid 5th, at least not from the 90`s. However, I`ll trow up some honourable mentions (either because they didn`t make the 5 or due to time period).

Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Franz Ferdinand, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, MGMT, The White Stripes, and Flight Of The Conchords.

Hmmm...
Nirvana
Offspring
Smashing Pumpkins (I'm surprised no one has said that already)
Radiohead
and I can't really think of another band I really like. There are some songs, but no bands.
