What are your views on hunting animal for sport? Do you consider it a sport? Do you even consider it justifiable?
I, for one, do not support hunting at all. It is a "sport" that involves luring an unknowing animal to a certain location (via scents, calls, bait, etc.), setting up a rifle that is bound to kill the animal with little to no risk of you being seen or injured, waiting, then killing. I mean, besides the single shot you take on an unsuspecting, usually motionless animal is the only thing you could possibly f*ck up. It's no more a sport than putting cheese on a mouse trap, or hitting a fly with a newspaper.
Yet because you're killing things that could potentially harm you if managed to be stupider than a downy chimp hitting itself with a brick, it's considered a sport. I mean, if MMA consisted of one guy being chained you the cage and the other guy cutting his head of with a sword, it wouldn't be considered a sport, it would be murder. The only possible way hunting could ever be a "sport" is if the hunter went unarmed into the forest while naked, attacked a deer/bear/moose/animal larger than a badger with his bare hands and managed to come out victorious. Now, you're saying "But that isn't fair, the other animal would kill him". DAMN RIGHT IT WOULD! And you know why? Cause we aren't supposed to be killing them!
Please note, this is about hunting for game, not for survival.
I'm ok with hunting as long as you're not one of those creeps who finds killing animals is fun. My rules are if you kill it, you eat it. This goes for fishing and trapping as well. I'm ok if you go hunting to get food, or for trophy, as long as the meat is eaten. If you just kill the animal and purposefully leave the carcass there, then that just pisses me off. The only reason I would hunt is for bonding with friends/family or if I were camping and I needed meat. Then I would go for a smaller game, but I probably wouldn't kill larger game... Not that I'm against killing larger game. I say it again, as long as you take all the meat you can eat from the animal, it's fine to hunt.
1)Trophy: Hunting an animal for their size and possibly horn, usually to mount the animal on your wall.
2)Conservation: Killing off animals to keep their population in check, usually because there are not enough natural predators to do the job. This actually helps the enviroment.
3)Food: To kill an animal for food, because it usually provides a well needed boost to your family's food supply and saves A LOT of money.
1) You honestly think it is okay to kill an animal just cause part of it's body looks good? That's nearly as bad as killing animals and using their fur as a coat. Nearly, because that actually has a purpose. The is absolutely not practical reason to have antlers on your wall whatsoever.
2) Then maybe you guys shouldn't kill all the predators, huh?
3) Falls under survival. If you eat EVERY single animal that you kill, I can justify it.

Why are you saying you like that is me? Thats is just a reason for hunting. I didn't say that is why I hunted.

Once again, I have not killed any predator and once again that is not always the reason. Sometimes there are to many predators, sometimes there is an animal without any predators.

1. Its a reason for some people, and most do somthing with the other parts
2 Its pretty safe to say that if a bear got into your backyard, you whould be scared, and call somone to shoot it. Its also safe to say that people who farm in my aria hate ciyotes becase they eat there cows, witch is another reason to kill preditors.
3. I make them into jerky. I love jurkey. And what whould you do with it if you didn't eat it?
Why are you saying you like that is me? Thats is just a reason for hunting. I didn't say that is why I hunted.
If you didn't support it you wouldn't have used it as a legitimate reason to hunt.
I eat all the animals I kill.
Well then there's no problem with that.
1. Its a reason for some people, and most do somthing with the other parts
Using that as a reason to kill is like me saying I killed a family cause the voices told me to. No matter how true it is, it doesn't justify the killing. Plus, there's a big difference between keeping the antlers cause you have nothing else to do with them and killing an animal, and only taking the antlers.

Granted, however, that's killing for protection, not killing for sport.

That is nearly the most biased, uninformed statement I have seen yet. Maybe the hunters haven't killed the predators??? Nowadays, not many people farm any more. And usually people call animal control if they get critters in their yard. 150+ years ago, however, if you lost your cow, that might mean you are going to starve. Back then they killed the predators because they couldn't make a living otherwise. And since all the predators were taken out, the game populations boomed. Then people shot the game. The game population went down, and the community of predator and prey were in check. But it is never in check, because there are too many humans... ...beside that point, not all hunters killed the predators in the area. And are you saying that if you eat the meat you kill, even if you aren't in a survival situation, it's justifiable? Or only when you absolutely need to eat the meat?
Using that as a reason to kill is like me saying I killed a family cause the voices told me to. No matter how true it is, it doesn't justify the killing
Your logic tells me that we are all horrible people for going to the store and buying a roast beef, ham, steak, etc. If not, please say so. And say what you think is justifiable for killing an animal in more detail.
