Simple.

Religious People: Prove god exists(ed)
Atheists: Prove that he doesn't.

If either side can make a solid reasoning, you are victorious.

You can only prove existence. Saying something probably doesn't exist is a result of not finding proof that it does. So the only thing to prove is does God exist. If not proven then we can say God probably does not exist.

Nice idea, but there are simply no knockdown arguments on either side of the debate. I'm worried about this just turning into either a) a flame war, or b) the same argument that every other religious thread turns into.
Without a little more direction, I'm just gonna hafta lock this thread

God is like the wind. You can't see the wind but, we can see and feel the effects of the wind. If God is non-existent then how can we see the effects he makes upon us and the world today? Exactly my point. It is not easy to prove that God exists however, for if we could easily prove that He did exist then what is the use of Faith? Faith being the belief (BELIEF !!!! THAT'S JUST IT) that God exists. Furthermore, have you ever stood before a beautiful sunset, or any other scene in nature and realized that this could not have happened by mistake? I don't know about you but, I have felt that very feeling many times standing before things such as the Rocky Mountains, Grand Canyon, Florida Beach Sunsets. It all goes to show that how could such complex a world as this have happened without divine intervention.
