Now why are you drinking alcohol?

Drink scotch or whiskey. They are Godly in comparison to beer.

Red wine isn't so bad either.

Then there's always vodka, but that stuff burns.

How do I know this? You will find I know a great many things.

You should not be drinking at 15. It will lead some bad habits.

Too bad for you. Personal tastes. I for one have liked red wine for as long as I can remember, but that may be due to the fact by dad always buys very, very good wine. I take sips from time to time, and I like it. But I'd be considered somewhat of an anomaly in that. Most people don't like alcohol until they're in their 20s, and some never like it.

Can't say anything of hard liquor, because all I've tried are wine and beer. But like Jkmad said, lots of drinking at a young age can lead to some bad habits, so don't be concerned if you don't like alcohol.

I don't like very much alcohol anyways (16).

I prefer marijuana.
But it's not for everyone.
Definitely worth a few tries (usually doesn't work the first time) once you're mature enough.

Having generational alcoholics in combination with any amount of drinking can lead to some very bad habits.

Which is why I don't, and will try not to drink. Ever. That coupled with my impulsive behavior. Yeah, I think you all get the picture.

1 turns into 5.

someone isnt gonna be very popular in college...

I for one have liked red wine

red wine taste like poop unless you get a wine breather, something to get rid of cork taint. unless your dad is buying 500 $ bottles of wine.

Drink scotch or whiskey. They are Godly in comparison to beer.

um, people dont drink beer for taste unless it is European imported lagers. Ive had some Guiness that tasted way better than scotch. You just have to buy the better types of beer, of course scotch or whiskey would taste better than natty ice or M light. BUt you cant generalize all beer under that category.

Which is why I don't, and will try not to drink

with drinking you also kinda learn self control.

lots of drinking at a young age can lead to some bad habits

again, this could be prevented with self control, say you have "church" or something the next day, obviously you arent gonna take 5 shots of jager and have a couple of beers. also for some types of alcohol, you arent supposed to chug it, such as cognac especially the XO kind.

Then there's always vodka

orion is right, there is always vodka, but you have to know your taste, vodka can be made from barley, potatoes, pineapple, ect. people believe that good vodka is an odorless, tasteless, alcoholic drink that can be made from anything, most "good" vodkas are distilled up to 4 times, I however believe that good vodka is distilled once, so you can still taste the original ingredient. such as potato vodka has a slight earthy taste, and pineapple vodka has a little tangy twist.

vodka could be your turning point in alcohol, if you want to get smashed quickly and drunkenly dance with other people, or if you want to appreciate the finer natures of the drink with a once distilled variety of it.

===
Not to incourage illegal behavior or anything. la chance XO cognac is what you should drink if you dislike alcohol... it will make you like it. there is a delicious aroma of oaken barrels and it is tasteless but it goes down smooth and spreads warmth to every inch of your body. Dont get the the Vs or VSOP types of cognac, that means they were only aged for 2 years and 5 years respectively. getting XO means it was aged of a minimum of 20 years. it is also fairly cheap for the caliber of drink (around 60 dollars for 750mL).

enjoy.

I once did an experiment - when confronted with a pure distillation of ethanol, my olfactory couldn't tell the difference between it and most vodka. I find the smell repugnant.

I can detect the smell of most alcoholic beverages from across the room, and they strike me as entirely repulsive. I've tried more drinks then I care to count, and they've all been awful. Not to say I haven't drank.. but usually there needs to be a social need to fit in, and a charming young woman involved....

Not everyone's tastebuds or sense of smell is the same - It's not any more 'weird' to dislike it then it is to dislike any other type of food or drink.

someone isnt gonna be very popular in college...

Right... because if you have avid drinkers for friends, they absolutely *hate* it when someone repeatedly volunteers to take care of the driving.

I actually vomit if I drink beer. Not other alcohol, just beer. Hah... can't believe I'm actually saying that.

Anyway... drinks with alcohol have a specific taste to them, apart from their own flavors... if you don't like it, don't drink it, it's that simple!

Mate, on your profile it says you're 13, so don't try it on being the tome of knowledge on all things alcoholic. I've been drinking since I was 13, and only really just started to get into darker spirits like whiskey, and I'm still not mad keen on wine.

People seem to have a great fear of alcohol, but really it's like any other substance - dangerous if you abuse it or take it too far. It's not alcohol that's the problem, but the ease of availability and lack of knowledge among young people.

That said, people who get all snobby about drink piss me off. If you don't like to drink, then that's fine. It doesn't mean everyone who does drink is a cretin. Each to his own. In addition most people who don't like drink probably never drank very much, or drank at too young an age. Believe me, it does start to taste good. Really good. Not to mention the fact it enhances your night out.

I've gotten a sip of beer from my uncle before. Didn't care for it in the slightest, to be honest.

There's nothing weird about disliking alcohol, it's no different than disliking any other food or drink. Unless you dislike it because of, say, a family history of drinking problems or other, more personal reasons. Which still isn't weird, just, a possibility.

Lol. I didn't say I did, I just said I know a great many things. Some types of alcohol being one of those.

BUt you cant generalize all beer under that category.

True. But I can generalize the low end stuff in the category.

with drinking you also kinda learn self control.

I'm not very good at that. I can't even stop myself from eating my parents ice cream. Yeah. I'm kind of impulsive.

Right... because if you have avid drinkers for friends, they absolutely *hate* it when someone repeatedly volunteers to take care of the driving.

Depends on who it is. Some cases, yes, others, no.

a family history of drinking problems or other

My mom went into liver failure because of alcohol. She drank that much.

My grandparents drink, and so did my great grandparents.

The reason I don't ever want to drink.
