So I decided to make a "question" of the day series, which will span until New year's day. It's also a science project, but forget about that 'til later.
First question:
Would oranges (the fruit) have been called a different name if they actually were naturally a different color?
The name actually came from... Eh, lemme just quote it.
the orange originates in Southeast Asia, and that its name (in old French "orenge" and in Spanish "naranja" is believed to be a transliteration of the Sanskrit word "naaranga," which came from the Tamil word "naru" which means "fragrant."
Would oranges (the fruit) have been called a different name if they actually were naturally a different color?
Oh absolutey its natural for them to call it orange the plain reason that it is orange...if it was any other color like red or green it would be called red or green.
It is about this. But we are just messing around and having fun with it. So I will end this now with my final statement on the dubject:
@firetail It doesn't matter, two different words are not the same, no matter what your man-made English laws say! I get to name my Spherical Citrus Lump whatever I want, and therefore the laws of my universe apply, not yours, which are incredibly boring, btw .
