Zeitgeist is a collection of nonsense and drivel that has little to no factual basis. I would recommend it only to those who violently hate the truth, or purely for entertainment.

Doesn't it also have parts about religion too? I found a guy at my school watching some of it. He's a...er, nonconformist lol

Yes, and although fairly entertaining, from a scholarly point of view, at best it's laughable, and at worst it's dangerous.

Films like these can be very convincing, yet contain arguments which are based on entirely fabricated facts, with no mechanism in place to call the makers out on this. The media cannot afford to do this often, they will wldly twist facts, but rarely outright lie - it's easier to cut through the crap without masses of research at major personal cost in terms of time.

Again, zeitgesit has value only for entertainment. Watch it with this in mind, and it's not an unrewarding experience, just please don't believe any of it.

I have to agree, the whole thing seems to be based upon misguided Philosophy. In fact, whatever the antonym of philosophy is, fits it better because it doesn't seem to be very rational.

It's true. Watered down Zeitgest is basically:

''There is a problem with the world''
''Problem X is caused by Y number of baseless assumptions''
''Flashy camera work with a narrator with a convincing voice''
''The end. P.S. I hope you have enjoyed your indoctrination''

Indoctrination into what. Not believeing the lies of religion, not believeing the lies of those who control the economy, and not believing the lies of those who benefited from 9/11...

Im cynical of the makers of zeitgeists motives, but there is a lot of good ideas in there, and I would hope it makes people think, and not just pass it off as some "indoctrination" documentry.

I would say if you only watched this then you would be in danger of being anti goverment just for the hell of it. Go watch The Calling 1/8 and onwards, the network, the corperation, supersize me, the power of nightmares... there are too many to mention, but these will all have negetive things to say about the life we lead, which although slightly depressing, is better than being a shopping zombie.

Zeitgeist contains a lot of false statements. For example, I remember it mentioned that there is no law that you have to pay income tax. You do, google it.

The 911 conspiracy has been almost completely refuted. Google it.

And a lot of the religion section was a fabrication. The second Zeitgeist is better.

There are a lot of reasons to be radical even on the level of which Zeitgeist teaches, but the documentary doesn't contain the correct facts. Study on imperialism, history, economics, globalization, communist theory, and the global poverty if you want to learn about the tyranny of the US.

If you take a look at different cults and the zeitgeist movement a few similarities do exist between them. Most cults will give a one central reason for the problems of everyone.
