The singers in screamo bands scream because they have no talent, and because of that are mad at the world and want to get there anger out and scream. it's as simple as that. The drummers play one beat on the snare that is just roll, not even a paradidle. I don't see how they have talent.

can you scream on key without ruining your vocal chords? its just as hard as singing. Most screamo band screamers also sing anyways.. and if you think they're all angry you obviously haven't read lyrics.
The drummers play one beat on the snare that is just roll, not even a paradidle. I don't see how they have talent.

Don't generalize an entire genre of music based on a few bands.

That's pathetic, if you think screaming is harder than singing, you have no idea how much harder it is to sing in key. Also, Screaming has a key? It sounds more like a puppy being slaughtered. When you are singing you have to sing on key, and not ruin your vocal cords. I find it funny that people listen to it, it's pathetic.

i never said its easy to sing... and i actually do know how hard it is to sing in key.

yes. if you scream out of key it's just as obvious as singing out of key.
When you are singing you have to sing on key, and not ruin your vocal cords.

screaming is a lot more dangerous than singing... if you just yell at a microphone you will cause permanent damage to your vocal chords... there is technique involved that allows you to scream without using your vocal chords, thus preventing them from getting damaged.. and it's very difficult to master

lol no not at all dude. im a drummer and i can tell you that there are VERY VERY good drummers in screamo. devil wears prada drummer is a BEEAAAST. attack attack is a VERY smart drummer. ive personally talked to him and we discussed music theory, dance gavin dance has a very good drummer, sleeping with sirens is insane also.

please dont get me started.


just because you personally dont like a certain style of music, doesnt mean its full of "no talent". thats possibly the most stupid statement ive ever heard. a mere "i dont like screamo" would do, followed by a reason of what you dont like. but stating YOUR OPPINION as a fact, just makes you look like an *** who doest know what hes talking about

Kilswitch Engage (<- screamo, right?). The guy screams, but he still has an amazing voice.


killswitch is just plain out heavy metal. amazing band though and a good example. that guy is an AMAZING vocalist

And I think tennis is one of the most boring sports ever. You know how I deal with that? By not watching it. It's that easy. If you don't like screamo, don't listen to it, and don't join a thread about screamo bands like this one. By coming to this thread only to complain, with nothing constructive to say, you're no better than a troll.

This post it not only aimed at tegan, but at all people who have and will come here just to say all screamo bands suck.

Now, back on topic.

There's a band which I consider screamo (not really sure what defines screamo) called Adept, which has made a few good songs. I didn't really like any song from their latest album though, so I don't know if I'd call them "the best" overall, but some of their songs are pure awesomeness.

cannibal corpse wouldnt realy be considered screamo its more death metal. screamo is like the new wave of bands like underoath and attack attack. that basically have no talent and every thing is auto tuned

auto tune is used primarily for the sound it makes sometimes.. keep that in mind.. just because one uses it does not mean they cant sing
