I've said this before and I'll say it again. I'm not going to a mod about it, they won't do jack no matter how hard I hammer it into them.
They made one for Halo, and there were never really that many topics on it. The Call of Duty ones are out of control on the contrary. This seems like an obvious thing, yet it still hasn't been done. If your a mod and you read this, please tell me what you think of this idea.
Same reason there is a console sticky. Because most users are unable to use the same thread for anything. They would rather make their own than join conversation in another. "Conversation". This way we can point that the sticky and say "go there" before we lock it. Generally I think there is too much diversity in the CoD threads because the new game just came out. It would be unfair to tell the people discussing camping to go to a thread where some are discussing weapons and others are discussing - something else. If a new Halo game came out, we might let the threads made for that be free for all, but atm it is usually not very interesting threads on that topic. I remember locking the awesome of "what do you think of Halo" and "which of the Halo games is the best" which obviously is not discussion but just going to be the same old "I think this and this because that and that" or "*game here*". Same with the consoles. There were a million one vs another, and people just reply to them all for the sake of the points. A bit like the people who "forget" they have posted, and then does it two pages after the last statement. So there. Perhaps later.
Might be an idea, but then again, you are not the one who have to update the stickies. Also, long list of stickies is annoying.
Mmmh, unless the mods aren't taking care of one or two. Must be a ton taken off their shoulders...
Why is there even a Halo sticky? Can't people just all hark to the same thread without it having to be stickied?
Yeah, but people always want there thread to be 'the one', or the one everyone goes to, and thus all the threads are small and die quickly.
This is my opinion, but isn't Call Of Duty 18+? And the minimum age to get on AG is... 13 years (In the States. Foreign people are sort of complicated cases). Imagine if someone posted bloody battle pictures that freaked out a 13 year old (It shouldn't (13 year olds DO act differently than what those age ranks give them credit)), but there are always special cases...
So a Call Of Duty would sort of slide through the Terms and conditions, right? And the reason Halo could be let through was because it's 12(Or 14, can't remember) or over.

Wooo, just saw I'd said the same thing as Cenny without reading his post... How inconsiderate of me.

Those ESRB ratings are a bunch of crap. To me. They are basically saying to you "you must be 17+ in order to see gore and blood". I would say that's the recommended age of a sheltered teen that hasn't seen blood and gore before. Oh and last time I checked Halo was Teen, so that's 13+ in the states for violence, blood, and language. but this is for another thread...
Okay, so Cenere says that these are for those that want to make their own threads about the same subject, yet he also says that too many stickies takes up lots of space and looks bad. How do we solve this?
A. Wait for the users to actually use the same thread instead of making a new if they can't see a thread with the same topic/the exact same title in the range of three posts down from the top. B. Wait for the users to become tired enough with Halo and doing vs. threads that it is actually possible to unsticky them. C. Get a grip and conclude that the useless ones will be killed off quickly the moment a mod lays his eyes on it. After all, there is no balance in the forums, is there, Valkyrie?
Also D. Wait till I get that sticky job done, and I will put one up.
or just do something like you did for sonny. You cant expect to put a title (cod mw2 put it here) and expect that it will make sense. Make it like a whole section with three subsections. All it would need, Weapons and classes, things you hate that need to be fixed (i.e camping), and General discussion (what rank are you, making clans, etc...). And with in those 3 subsections you have everything solved, with only three different threads. And I mean it might take time, but use the similar code that you used to create all the other subsections and sections, and there you go. Just change the name around. Cuz its getting very annoying seeing COD pop up in every second thread, in more than just the gaming section
We can't. AG is a FLASH site, which CoD isn't. Krin was the one who made the section for Sonny because it is kinda like AG's pride, it seems. He made it, he is responsible. It is vital for AG, in some way. Filling an entire section with something unrelated to flash is just plain annoying. If people can't use the same threads, but are talking about the same, the other threads should be locked or deleted. Funnily enough I have yet to see every other thread being CoD.

If you're lucky, and one of the mods is very happy that day (Come back from vacation, no spam, zero flamers) They might sticky a Call Of Duty thread that has hundreds of followers.
B. Wait for the users to become tired enough with Halo and doing vs. threads that it is actually possible to unsticky them.
That could take long time...

That sounds like putting it a notch up: Making a forum for Call Of Duty? That would instantly put the other idea into shadows. And there's a problem: What if people only come to AG to the CoD forum? With no interest in the games, the other forums, and only a few comments?

If they end up in anything other than the Video Games section, most likely they will end up locked or moved.
I kinda just noticed this... If there are so many CoD fans, then why don't they post their opinion here? It seems because they are only interested in the CoD threads here, and never even bother to look at the other Forums to notice that you are fighting for something in their favor.

Personally, I like Bubble Tank more, but it seems that AG puts a lot of effort and resources into Sonny (I did like the second game, but it was kind of sad when I completed it and all the battles where easy).

Yeah, I just checked and seems like one out of every 5 or 10 threads. That is a huge amount, but not every other thread (Depends on how many CoD threads are replied in when you look at the pages)
