I'm pretty fond of this game. It's like a mixture of phage wars (the way the battles play) and gemcraft (everything else, I'd swear it was made by the same guy...)

I've only played for a little while, so my tips only go up to the level with the giant tortoise.

General Tips:
- Keep crystal buildings stocked to the max
- Get defense towers first
- Don't let unit counts cap in normal structures, use them!
- Reinforce your buildings constantly
- Don't forget your firespell, it makes capturing structures very easy.

Advanced Tips/Strategies (not really...)
-Upgrade things like speed, attack, etc. Spells are nice, but not needed.
-Immediately attack your enemies (larger) starting base. The enemy generally uses a large amount of units from it, making it easy for capture. Use firespell to weaken it even more.
-Don't go for the larger defensive tower's first. Its much easier to let the enemy soften it up for you first, then 'steal' it. Also, move your troups while the tower is firing on the enemy to prevent loses.
-Overload. Send a lot of units into a crystal building or tower, and before the units start to decrease (because of the unit cap) send them out to attack an enemy building of your choice.
-Replay battles with blind mode! It doesn't make anything that you have beaten that much harder and gives a nice exp boost. Probably the only problem is when guessing to go for a defensive tower.

Level Strategies (up to the great tortoise)
The 'Buddha' Level (the one before the turtle)
-This will probably be your first challenge in a straight playthrough. Two tough enemeis that will quickly over welm you because they are double-teaming noobs. Pick one an enemy to kill first! Take a few structures very quickly and then go for the heart (the enemies largest starting building). A successful takeover will leave the rest fairly easy. The other enemy on the other hand will probably have only started to nip at you if done right, and the rest of the battle will back like any previous one.
The Great Tortoise (you can't miss it)
-See that big turtle? Leave it alone for now. There is a ticker at the top, when it ends the tortoise goes crazy. Quickly and I mean quickly kill the other enemy. You have no time to play with them, and even though they use a few spells on the tortoise, slugging out with them will probably mean defeat. To quickly kill your enemy, just send your starting force at its main building, and then perform mop-up duty. After you have dispatched your enemy occupy every structure (maxing out the big tower and the crystal structures are not needed). Once every structure is occupied quicly select each one and send your units to one of the arms. Immediately repeat the sentence above until you have destroyed one of the arms. The tortoise does fight back, so whenever it destroys one your structures quickly take it back. Attack the other arm, and the the head and the battle is over.

Thats it so far, I haven't played past that. Fill free to continue upon this, discuss the game, or w/e

The best strategy is to capture as many buildings as fast as possible, and make moves alot of times. The most things you own, the most units you will be able to use.

A really great strategie to "Boost" your level up really fast is to go to skills and put "XP" all the way up, and go to the first level and win as fast and much as you can, then, when you unlock blind mode, no magic, or whatever you put those on, attack the base immediately and you will get just about 8k XP when you have everything turned on. Also, I went through the whole game with no trouble 'til I got to the surprise tribe, it's very easy if you attack there base first, then attck high numbered buildings (NOT defense towers) then move in on there acquired buildings.. also use magic (metorites work best) to take them out quicker.

Just wondering, do we know if time factors into your score at the end of a level? Does using magic increase or decrease the score at all? I guess it would be nice to know exactly makes up our score/XP earned?

Those are Runes. <30 seconds and no magic (or conversely, magic only). Not sure if you can continue to get those runes after you've gotten them in the first place, but time is a factor regardless.
