That's all you get.

I want to see where you all will take this before I jump in.

Now get to it.

It depends on the circumstances. For instance if my life or the life of another was being threatened by this man and he died as a result of me trying to stop him. It would be justified in that case.

Just a random Joe Blow off the streets, someone who has done nothing to you, someone without a criminal history? No.

Well thats a hard question....
Yes it is wrong to kill ANYONE. Perhaps wrong but sometimes neccisary (can never spell that word ). Even a criminal may change etc..
too tired to write a good answer...

I'm going to echo MageGrayWolf (should I just call you Mage?) and say that it depends on the circumstances. However, unnecessary killing should be avoided, if possible.

Killing someone on a battlefield is vastly different from cold blooded murder. Murder is wrong, defending what you believe in is right.

Killing someone with no reason is obviously a wrong action. But i'll have to go too with MAgeGRayWolf cause it depends on the circumstances. If you are in danger,or for example you are trying to save your brother from an assasin, killing the assasing justify you.

I consider myself a realist pacifist. I personally do not believe that in this modern age, there is any need or reason to kill anybody. That said, not everyone in the world is so enlightened, thus violence becomes a problem we must address: with violence. I do think that violence should be avoided at all costs, and the 'golden rule' should be applied at all costs. While somewhat cheesy and contrived, it's a very effective way to procure a future for your species.

Also, am I the only one who thinks the title of the thread seems to imply it's ok to kill women?

That possibility did occur to me as well. For Voidy's sake, I assumed the term "man" meant "human".

According to our conscience it is wrong. Are we born with a conscience or is it something that is learned? Would a hermit who has had no contact with society feel the same way about killing?

I do not believe that any circumstance can justify killing another person. Killing is killing. To believe that you can justify killing is naive.

To believe that you can never justify killing is naive.

If you are in an army and your commanding officer orders you to kill some one, or it's self-defense, it's wrong.

But if it's just because you don't like them, or because you are a murderer, then it's NOT OKAY.

No. There simply is no logical reason that upholds morals. The only reason they exist is to shape society and allow the civilization of men.

If the whole world blew up it wouldn't matter.

Only those with a brain can feel apathy for the dead.
