By the way, whoever said it doesn't have pen support, they now have a new application for artists on the app store made the iPad. You CAN draw anywhere you want.
I don't think I would want an ipad but mabye the Alien software laptop, or a Dell. It was a nice idea and was going to come around eventually but there are just to many bugs right now to make me want to buy it. Also no I was not surprised by it and nor will I ever will be at Apples products anymore.
My sister has one and she can't play her music and get on the internet or something like that with out stoping her music. That would piss anyone off that you con't have and oversized ipod and a laptop working in harmony.
In all the ipad needed some work before it came out and I woun't be buying one soon.
I feel it could be really really awesome if they push it in the right direction and market it correctly.. otherwise it will flop.
the whole idea of it replacing laptops would work i feel. it functions as a laptop at home with an attaching keyboard. and functions as an oversized overdriven PDA while out. you could watch movies at a large scale on the train, or read books relatively easily. It could double as a tablet since its touch screen. I think that once it is developed better if it gets to that point could be amazing.
but right now it is kinda just an iphone without calling and four times the size.
1) The iPad is basically an iPod just enlarged about 5x larger. A dis-advantage is the size of the iPad. While it's harder to carry, it will still hold more memory, but IS NOT ADOBE FLASH PLAYER COMPATIBLE! Unless Apple can make up there mind with Adobe and work with them, the iPod series is not going to be as good as it should.
2) The iPad is far over-priced... Rangin from I hear $600 - $1,000. You might as well et the iPod 32 Gb for about $300 ( I may be incorrect)
3) The iPad is able to hold more games/apps, which is good.

Okay:
1)The size is not a disadvantage. That is the way it was made, and for a perfectly good reason. Some people wanted to be able to have a full sized keyboard on a multi-touch piece of equipment. You can have a small keyboard that is completely useless, or you can have a large one on a bigger screen. I choose the latter. Also, more games and other applications can be run with better quality on this bigger screen. 2)You are indeed incorrect. The iPad's price ranges from $499 to $899. Extreamly good price for such a useful multi-touch mini computer/large ipod touch, whichever you perfer to call it. 3) Yes, I agree.
