I think more people would want to make an account if there was more of a variety of things to do and a more online experience as in something like more games having to do with multiple people playing against each other because i think i have only seen one game like that. agree to disagree, just my thoughts
Hard as in 'making the game' or hard as in 'making it possible to play that game online'...? I don't know much of programming so don't judge me on this...
I think AG is always looking for more ways to get people to join this community. I've seen the account rate expand with a small 2000 users over a 3 day period now, so... people are still joining AG! =D

I've learned that writing multiplayer games takes a very long time, and loads of bugs appear. You also have to buy or rent a server, because unless AG really likes the game (Like Colony, I think) they won't do it. And I think you have to make a server for every website you upload the game, and tell me: Where is the developer going to get the money?

That number though also includes all the dead users, and ghost accounts (Accounts that were never used or 1 AP from rating a game). The amount of active users stays the same: About 500-5000 users, of which about 500 post in the Forums, 1000 comment a lot, and the rest spam on games.
So the AG community is actually pretty small, which is good: The place isn't as messy, the mods have less work, and the server isn't slowed done by 500,000 people playing one game at the same time (Only happens when the big games come out).
That kinda might take away the purpose of the site. Unless you mean by means of contests and stuff might be a neat idea. But usally it won't happen cause nobody is reading this thats a mod or something.

Agreed, but still I've seen (again) 500 users sign up over the last day, so there are still people joining as a user, rather than having only one purpose... spamming. If only 1% is a new active user, that's still 5 persons a day! Th rest will loose interest quickly... I hope! =D

Yeah, come to think of it, it might sort of turn it into a sort of competition community site, like a massive Multiplayer game.

I bet one or two mods have read this, except that they don't post on it (They don't have to post every thread they look at).

Yes, but you don't see much of them, do you?

'Lose ' interest, not loose. Just wanted to point out... And of those 5 people, probably only one or two post consistently in the forums.
'Lose ' interest, not loose. Just wanted to point out...
In this sentence, loose is the correct verb, though not used often.
Only one game in AG that does multiplayer games? You must have not been looking around hard enough. You must mean only one game that is well-organized and popular, such as Colony? There are plenty of other multiplayer games that have servers, but...they just aren't as popular as Colony.
Multiplayer games are nice, but multiplayer means servers, and servers mean money. How is the author going to keep that server(s) up and running 24/7 to satisfy the needs of the AG and others community? Ads are a sufficient way, but do you really want those around while you are trying to get feedback from the server and even from the game in play itself?
Come to think of it....we don't have a multiplayer RPG in AG....that's a nice thought.
I think what he means by this is making games like "latform Racing 2" where you play with other people... not many (flash) games have that due to the complex system of flash... as an example the people that made "Adventure Quest" just came out a few months ago a game called "Adventure Quest Worlds" and out of the four they have made that Adventure Quest Worlds is the only one were people can play online with each other.

If this means more people joining AG, then it is a good suggestion indeed! =)
I've seen the user amount added with another 500 over the last day, so new users are still joining AG, but this number could definitely be a lot higher once a RPG is installed... so let's hope they do then!

I agree: There are a few (Not that many) and most of them are ok, have lost their shine or are not fun.

By putting the server's plug into the electric socket. That's how I would do it.

Colony has ads (Though I have to admit they don't seem to work on my computer). But they don't get in the way, which is good.

And there I was, thinking the whole 'internet-thingy' was simply powered by hamsters in a running wheel... I'll immediately go and delete my gold membership account with "supportthehamstersinrunningwheelstokeepinternetgoing.(dot)runforestrun"!!! LOL =D
And there I was, thinking the whole 'internet-thingy' was simply powered by hamsters in a running wheel...
Now that's an idea...
What I meant was that it doesn't take that much money to keep a server up and running, only money to buy it in the first place and keeping it on the internet.

I think I'll check that site..
