Btter, most definitely. Those annoying elevator sequences are gone, and the endless copy/paste planetary based side missions have been scrapped.
I really like the different classes. Infiltrator and Vanguard are my favourite, but I have yet to try a pure Botic which I hear is also excellent.
All that said, I am disappointed they have taken such a linear approach to the morality system. It's not that the choices themselves are so black and white, but I just think it's unrealistic to put all actions into two categories. It would be a much more immersive game if the morality system was revamped to include shades of grey, or gotten rid of completely, leaving you to make decisions as you go along without having to suffer alienating characters.
What about bullets? I found it most annoying; often I have to jump in front of enemy fire just to pick up bullets...
It's not so bad. It would be far too easy a game if ammunition was unlimited, because all you would need to do would be to crack out a heavy weapon and go to town. I just wish there was a more regular resupply of ammo, as in some levels, like the derelict reaper vessel, there are so many husks, you use up so much ammo so quickly and end up having to melee your way through them, obviously not something which is ideal.
Curving the pull ability around obstacles and then setting a floating merc on fire with flaming bullets is probably the most awesome thing ever. Though it kind of sucks that you can't use most of the powers on shielded enemies. It makes overload way overpowered. I'm also not a huge fan of the new weapon upgrade system; you can't customize as much.
And firefly, I actually like the new renegade/paragon system. It's better than wasteing points on charm and intimidation or whatever it was. You can have high levels of both aspects; one paragon point doesn't take away anything from renegade. So while you can't be "grey", you can be both white and black.
Yeah, I hated the lack of weapon custonization too. But I've to ask Firefly: have you played the first one? Bullets were unlimited, all you had to care about was weapon overheating (strictly speaking about weapons).
So while you can't be "grey", you can be both white and black.
Yes, but to unlock a decent amount of conversation options, you'd have to fill up both paragon and renegade bars, which would be pretty difficult on one playthrough, and it's not something I'd go out of my way to do.

Better, but not flawless. Putting all actions into good or bad makes the character so one dimensional. You're never realistically going to always be a paragon or a renegade. A lot of the time, although I lean more towards paragon, the renegade choices are just more logical, and so I use them. Should I be regarded by the game as being evil for that? I don't think I should be.

Yea, I imported my character from ME1 (a feature I think has a lot of potential btw) and I think it is a better system purely because it makes it more strategic and realistic. If you had unlimited ammo, you'd just blast bad guys away with unlimited heavy weapon rounds. Where would be the fun in that?
On the opposite: have you ran out of ammo in a very tragic moment? Could they have given you more room for the bullets, couldn't them? 6 shots of sniper rifle? How could you even think of using it?
For that matters I'm glad that they cut out the elevators too! The 24th time of listening the same cr*p was driving me mad...

Yes, and I agree it is very annoying.

That is a problem, although since the sniper is such a potent weapon, it does make you use it sparingly, adding to the tactical element of the game. But yes, I would like to have a tad more ammo sometimes.

I haven't completed it yet, but I hear you can choose whether Shepheard lives or dies for ME3. Or maybye you make that choice at the beginning of ME3. Not entirely sure. Either way, it's an epic decision to make. The whole continuation of characters from game to game is a really nifty one in my opinion, which I hope other developers pick up and expand upon. It has tons of potential.
he, being the most important man in history, got revived from death using hyper-tecnology.
So he died... and then he got better. As in, became not dead. So it was really stupid, then?
If you imported a save, do you get to re-pick faces? I assume the entire plot device was designed to allow players to select one of Mass Effect 2's not completely hideous hairdos instead of being forced to use the awful styles of Mass Effect one. Seriously, what does Bioware have against hair that isn't short and brown?
On a weirder note, can you reselect gender? Speaking of gender, you say "most important man in history" almost like you didn't play a female.
