The whole continuation of characters from game to game is a really nifty one in my opinion, which I hope other developers pick up and expand upon. It has tons of potential.
This is by far the most ground breaking aspect of ME. It really makes you feel as if your character is real, with a legitmate history. One time, I was walking on some random city when an asari ran up to me and thanked me for saving the rachnai queen, which is something I did in the other game. Seriously, bioware must have spent months just doing the voices for all of the options. It makes you consider the outcome of all your actions, because you have no idea when they will effect you. I'm sure that there are things I did in ME 1 that don't matter now, but will in ME 3. Pretty cool.
If you imported a save, do you get to re-pick faces? I assume the entire plot device was designed to allow players to select one of Mass Effect 2's not completely hideous hairdos instead of being forced to use the awful styles of Mass Effect one. Seriously, what does Bioware have against hair that isn't short and brown?
Yeah, you can pick a new face. I chose not to, because it made the series seem more like one long game than two seperate entities.
I just finished it. Wtf. Half my bloody team died on the last level. I'd upgraded pretty much everything too. Not cool man. Not cool. Can't wait for ME3 though. I won't spoil it for anyone, but the last cutscene indicates a pretty epic battle to come.
I looked up a few strategies online. According to them, you have to get all the ship upgrades and all the prototype upgrades. Unluckily for me, the only upgrades all of were the prototype upgrades. Oh and also people also die depending on who you pick to lead each secondary squad.
