Born February 12, 1809, Abe Lincoln now celebrates his 201st birthday today. Shame he had to celebrate it dead, but you should still wish him a happy birthday. After all, he was one of our greatest presidents.
It seems JUST YESTERDAY when he gave the "4 score and 7 years ago" speech... I don't quite remember the whole thing, I was only 40 then mind you, but yes, I agree, he is one of our most important and influential presidents and his greatness is thankfully living on even 201 years after his death.
His beard is even exclusive in Fallout 3! See how famous he is?
Alas, the Unknown Soldier is more famous than Honest Abe himself. His tomb is guarded day and night by two armed men, 24/7, 365/1, and no one even knows who he is. He's THAT famous ;-)
But Abraham is famous too... he's America's silver medal.
Happy birthday to the old guy who's rotting as we speak... Happy birthday to the old guy who's rotting as we speak... Happy birthday to AAAAABE Happy birthday.... to.... THE OLD GUY WHO HAUNTS YOU AND IS ROTTING AS WE SPEAK. YAY!
Speaking of "digging him up" XVERB in the mid 1870s some Chicago counterfiters actually attempted to steal his body and ransom it back for the release of another counterfiter and $200,000. Needless to say it failed but just an interesting tidbit of history. They almost had him too but got scared off by a gunshot from an over zealous Secret Service agent.
Pssh, he's at least worth 2 million. The body of a president?? And those sneaky Secret Service agents... can't be one until your reflexes are that of a cat. And they really are team players when it comes to drastic situations too.
