Does anyone watch survivor? I have always watched this show, and thought it was very interesting. It is different then most TV shows. This is a thread to discuss it. If you don't watch it, here is what it is: In Survivor, the show picks 20 people who applied to be on the show. They are split into 2 tribes of 10, and are stranded on an island. Each episode is a 3-day period. There are 2 challenges each episode. One is a reward challenge, and one is an immunity challenge. If you win the reward challenge, you may get a trip somewhere on the island, you might get flint to make fire, you might get fishing gear or blankets. The immunity challenge, if you win, you stay home from tribal council. If you lose, you go to tribal council and have to vote off someone from your tribe. When there are about 10 people left, the tribes merge into one tribe. Now the challenges you compete on your own, or have captains to pick teams. The immunity challenge is always individual. But the winner of the immunity challenge gets to be safe from tribal council. THey still have to atten it, but they cannot be voted out. Each person who gets voted out goes to the jury. Once only 3 survivors are left, the jury votes for the winner or the game, the one who recieves $1,000,000. So that's survivor. Anyway, this year on survivor they are bringing out a lot of all-stars from the past 20 seasons. They split them into a heroes tribe, and a villains tribe. The heroes are put in their tribe for being good at challenge and working at camp. The villains are put in their tribe for being great strategic players.
I'm watching it. While I was also curious why Johnny "Fairplay" wasn't there, I'm getting a little annoyed with Russel. He's just soo cocky and think he's the best player ever. Maybe he is, but you don't say it!
So far, I'm enjoying it. Good show and the only reality show I'm liking at the moment.
Oh man! I have yet to miss a season! I'm actually really happy Russel made it back on (he totally deserved to win last time). Yes, he is conceited, but I truly do think he played the best game of Survivor ever (I mean... who finds 3 immunity idols)!! I'm also a big fan or Boston Rob; hopefully he makes it thought next week (the previews have him passing out)!
I betcha some Heros will be doin' some villan-ish moves! I cannot wait to see how this season plays out!
The first episode was pretty good: lots of action, injuries and whatnot. Well, I'm not a fan of people getting hurt, although it's nice that they are really competing.
The only thing I dislike about this season is that everybody knows what to do. They know how to act, they know how to build fire, they know how to build shelter. I like the newbies where they get lost and takes them awhile to learn. =)
my fams having one of those survivor things where u put money in and who ever chooses the guy who wins gets all the money... Anyways we did it like the hockey draft and I drew the short straw. So i had to pick last in the first round pick first second round and then i got stuck with the one person left. So i picked russel and parvati, and then got stuck with christine... anyways im hopin i win lol. Russel just destroys and is amazing at the game. Parvati made sumone give up there immunity idol, and then voted him out... And Christine.. well i dont even remember her. But shes the only hero i got, so hopefully she keeps flying under the radar...
The only thing I dislike about this season is that everybody knows what to do.
That is really interesting because one thing I love about the all-star seasons is that people know how to play it. It brings a whole new dynamic to the game. I personally think Survivor is one of those games that it is just as hard for a returnee as a newbie. I think the one thing that I really love about the all star seasons is that we already know the cast. Each season, it takes me a good couple episodes to find my favorites and see who each person is like...then I get interested! But here... I was hooked on the game from day one because we have already seen these people before, thus already loving/hating them!
