So to fire this one off...The best pokemon game was the gold/silver (series 2) games for the gba. It basically was a red/blue game with an enhanced storyline, 4x larger landmass, and of course 2x more pokemon; something everyone wants
And now it is going to be re-released as Soulsilver and Heartgold. As mentioned, I am really looking forward to the first of those, after having waited for so long. It is going to be hell, though. I am a collected by heart, but still I want my pokemon to be strong > >... But it will be nice. They are coming out, what, next month, I think? Not that I have time to wait in suspense until then, and not that I will actually have the money, but I am going to get it either way!!
Soulsilver is being released next month? *Grumble grumble*. I need to job.
Silver for Gameboy was my favorite Pokemon game. It was the first Pokemon game where I got all the available Legendaries, and it was the first Pokemon game I actually beat. I remember when I caught Lugia, and how excited I was. ._.
Just curious. What starter type does everyone start out with? I usually start off with the Water-type Pokemon.

Oh did I mention that I have the japanese version with pre-english text on just the menus and battle interfaces? If you have an AceKard (which is a hush-hush type of hardware), then you can play all sorts of games released to japan first.
Lesse here, it looks just like Pearl and Diamond, with heightened textures, since it's later on in the DS. The old man that gives you the map card also gives you the running shoes (since running shoes didn't exist back then). Text right now is all japanese, but the menu and battle interfaces are all English, since it's pretty much an easy prediction what these characters mean when you see a blast of water coming out of Totodile's mouth!
Sounds interesting, Freakenstein. I wish I lived in the US... The pre-order comes with a pokemon figure, and that Lugia might just be one of the most awesome figurines I have seen for this franchise. But nooo, of course I have to live in stupid Europe - -
And, for a starter, I have always been the fire type. I am usually somewhat varied though (this being said based on the online games I have played along with favourites and rpgs > > I am going to get the Cyndaquil. This of course only until they start making games more realistic. Then I am going to get myself a ponyta!
Man, i really loved the origonal game, i used to own blue version, lost it, now i own yellow XD.
I think that yellow was really the best pokemon game ever, other than that, i think the gold silver and crystal were awesome (though some of the new pokemon wern't the greatest) Then came Saphire, which i loved, and emerald, which i also think was awesome Then Fire red and leaf green came out (own both, i like yellow better XP) After that came Pearl which is also pretty awesome.
I love all the games, so i might buy the new gold, (not silver, when i was younger you were a gold kid or a silver kid, you couldn't own both :P) I'll also probably get Platinum, sonce i'ved own 2 of every other generation. Blue and yellow, gold and crystal, saphire and emerald, firered and leafgreen...

I don't do any research on the actual pokemon befor i buy, so i choose based on which one i think is best/cutest looking :P. I chose squirtle in blue (pikachu in yellow obviously) Cindiquyll in gold, Torchic in saphire and Chimchar in Pearl (It had a flaming butt, can't beat that)

If any of you remember the starting menu of silver how Lugia is traveling in the bottom of the seas? Lugia in 3-D, swimming in clear waters, waiting long enough, he'll use his signature move.
And I have now preordered at my local game stop, because I was in a rush of "MONEY; I HAVE MONEY!" with a blend of "singing in the snow". Looking forward to getting it. And hoping I will actually have the money for it, when it comes out. 22 days.
When I was younger I was a fan of the show. Also when I was younger I was a fan of the GameBoy games and Pokemon Snap. The thing is... well, they did what Mortal Kombat did and went OVERBOARD with the characters. Too many, and they began to look generic. Nothing special about them, nor did they each have their own personality. At least that's what I think.
Still, even with that, I think they can still produce some great games if given the right chance.
