Would it be possible to create a random game button? I like the random game feature, but sometimes, if I've played the game, or notice that the ratings are pretty low, I'd like to be able to see a new one. I realize it would be possible to just refresh the page, but when I do that it seems to show the same one for a set amount of time, no matter how many times I refresh (it seems that the "time delay" would be about 30 seconds) any ideas? comments? glaringly obvious things I should have noticed?
Just tried it out, and the game that popped out was on the front page under 'New Games' anyway...
Upon refreshing the page though, the game changed. That means you must be wrong on it changing every thirty seconds or so (Either it changes every 5 seconds or per refresh).
Weird: I had to refresh 3 times until a different game appeared in the random games box. That must mean it isn't so random (It has a far higher chance of hitting some games than others, or it has a limited list). I would just be content with how it is now.
when you clicked 3 times and got the same one, thats what i was talking about with it seems that the random game is set for a certain amount of time. i understand that it's only a small amount of time to wait for a new random game, but i have found some of my all time favorites from that feature, and it would be nice to be able to get a new one quickly

Random game really means random game. It shows one game out of the god knows how many thousand+ games we have, and yes, you guessed it. 30 seconds. Just enough time for people to rate, comment, and come back to find a different game. It's so convenient!
Personally, I'd like a random game button. I find it hard to search for a game and just play it. I'd like a random game to just pop-up in my and I'll say: "Okay, well, I guess I GOTTA play it now...."

Mmmh, well if that's what you want toe random button for, I can understand. but doesn't the current random game work for that too? I can understand (Although it's not good) how people want the button to really be random every refresh or automatically, so they can rate and go to the next game.

I think you're right, but the time seems shorter... Maybe the AG clock messing up, meaning it's a different time every time (Weird choice of words).
Because I don't just rate and comment a game for points. I rate and comment a game that appeals to me, one that would keep me entertained long enough to consider rating it. It's just not in me to rate and comment a game within 30 seconds. Some might even say you were spamming if you didn't comment solid enough :-/

Another way to find good games is to look at other peoples favourites list and try those out. Having said that though not many people actually use the favourites list. Try to look for people with more armour points as they are more likely to have games added.
hmmm... i've never considered using it just to rate & comment for points... i've always used it as a way to find older games that are appealing to me. it's a great way to find a good game that may or may not be in the top games in it's section. also, i've played poorly rated games and loved them.

True, as that's how some users have managed to make 2000 AP in one month with less than 100 comments and 0 forum posts.
I like the Random Game too however I usually use it only once or twice a day so it works fine for me .
That does probably work when you see a game on there that you an play for a long time on. Otherwise, you go to the random button pretty often.

Just noticed this...
Freakenstein has estimated the refresh time of the random button at 30 seconds. You can post one forum post and comment every 30 seconds. Do you see it? It's automated so that spammers and bots can't senselessly rate, spam and never play the games they go on. They can still spam crazily, but at least bots can't swamp a game in 10 seconds.
ahhhhhhh, THAT makes ALOT more sense now. i must not have read his post thoroughly enough, because that is a very valid point. it now makes sense why they don't have a random game button... it would still be nice, but i see that the possible use by spammers and bots probably outweighs most of the advantages. Thanks!
To me such an option only seems needed when you have played all the games on Armor Games, and I mean ALL the games... There are so many games on AG, that you would really need to make a huge effort (or be a member since the beginning) to play all of them!
So why implement a 'random game button'? Just go to one of the categories, pick a page and play number... 15 on the page shown! There... problem solved!
