Hello there, everybody! Haven't seen a thread like this around and I was just curious. So tell us what your favourite album(s) of all time is/are, you can post however many entries you want! And remember to say why exactly you like the album(s) so much!

I'll kick this thread off with my Top 5!

5) Houses of the Holy (Led Zeppelin) - Now THIS is a Hard Rock album! It's awesome pallet of musical styles is fresh and fun! Not to mention the whole band is in top form throughout!

4) Let it Bleed (Rolling Stones) - Such a cool one! Playing in a diverse range of styles, from Country, to Blues, to driving Hard Rock, the Stones never sounded better!

3) On the Beach (Neil Young) - This album is all about contrasts! Range of styles, emotion, tempo, and subject matter. Going from the metaphorical, introspective pieces, to the direct, sing-along tunes! Though it isn't as universally revered as Tonight's the Night, I still like this one a helluva lot more!

2) Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd) - The best of Pink Floyd's "Classic Era", also hands down their best. This album finds the Floyd's instrumental abilities at their best, not to mention some of Roger Water's best lyrics, which were always top-notch to begin with!

1) The Who Sell Out (The Who) - Good god, words can hardly describe this masterwork of Rock N' Roll! Oh, wait, I can think of a few: Fun, Hard Rockin', Insightful, Satirical, Beautiful, and Fantastic!

There ya have it, folks! POST AWAY!

Mothership by Led Zeppelin

I was originally talking studio albums, so that's kinda cheating, putting a compilation, if you could pick something else that would be nice.

Stairway to HEaven (BEAST guitar)

It's not actually a very hard song to play. It's songs like this that prove speed isn't everything when it comes to axe-work.

This is really hard when you like more than 50 albums.
I'll come back and see if I can make a list.

Hmm, someonehas an unwarranted sense of superiority . . . someone with spelling/grammar problems . . . .

Music is an opinion, not a fact. All people know good music when it hits them in the face, because they'll like the music.

Also, gonna have to add Fragile by Yes into my list. It is the best progressive rock album out there, with every song, especially Heart of the Sunrise and South Side of the Sky, being a masterwork of instrumentation and the sublime vocal stylings of John Anderson.

*unwarranted sense of superiority when it comes to musical opinions

I really can't do more than an album top four, because 5th place is like a 100-way tie.

I agree with you on this fella Alt. Kay, I apologize for bursting (wrongfully over-inflated) bubble, but please try to keep your ego out of this okay? Not everybody is gonna agree with you, but that doesn't give you any right to bash their opinion's. As for your grammar, no comment.

That counts as a comment :P

Anyway, strangely for me, my favorite albums don't come from my favorite bands, with the exception of PF and MM.
