I'm really annoyed by the school uniforms. Every single day i have to..
1)Tuck in my shirt (i always get in trouble for not doing that)
2)Wear a belt everyday
3)Can't wear any type of shirt we want
4)We have to have a certain colored jacket
Is there any type of school that let's you wear whatever you want?
My school is so formal and strict.

I personally hate uniforms as well. One school I went to was considering adopting uniforms I told them if they did they would have to hold me down and dress me if they wanted me in it.

At my school, if you wear anything that isn't the proper school uniform, then you get suspended. Boys uniform is a belt, shirt, gay pants, socks that go up to your knees and black shoes.

It was the same at one of the schools I went to. Sometimes it was the only reason I went to school.

At the same time, I get both parts of the fight for uniforms. I think that if every kid at school was wearing uniforms, there would be less-

It really only sugar coats the real underline problems here.

Our uniforms are dark dull colours.

Better than hot pink and bright purple, isn't it?

And yes, I go to a catholic school.

Stop going. Nothing stopping you.

Go enroll in a public school. I would say it's a bit of a different ball park though.

Oh s top complaining the private I went to as a child had these requirements:

Dress shoes
Navy blue slacks or shorts
white dress shirt
navy blue vest or sweater vest
blue/black or if you were a 'hall monitor' of sorts red tie

Now I go to public school and where whatever I want to as long as its school appropriate... *cricket chirps* ok you can laugh now

The thing is, I reckon a uniform of some sort is a good thing, because you can tell alot about someone by the clothes they wear. Eg: Wealth, Social Interests ect. So wearing a uniform, in a way is a good thing

Are you saying it's a bad thing to express your personality?

you do realize that the kids who go to those schools have to buy their uniforms, right. that first family looks homeless, and probably wouldn't be able to afford uniforms. I doubt they even com from the US. I feel the fact that someone is wealthier than another person shouldn't mean that they should have to dress like everyone else, so that the poor people don't feel bad. I do find it strange when people spend $200 on a pair of jeans, but it's their money and it's nobody's business what they do with it. Clothing is a very important way of expressing oneself, and if someone doesn't have the means to buy nice clothing, that's just too bad for them. It's kind of like people born with natural talent in a sport or art. should those people hold back so that untalented people don't feel bad? Doesn't that sound like a certain Vonnegut short story we all know?

At my school we have to wear a white shirt, a tie, a black blazer, black trousers and black shoes. I envy you because you guys do not have to put on a tie every morning. >:/

At my school you can wear anything but short shorts and t shirts that have inapropriate stuff. I can't imagine having a dress code.

crazy principle is a pervert
First most are (creepily enough) =]
And second i also hate the uniform policy, it seems like another way to strip us of our individuality... witch is fail.

But.

Nothing funny was said.

Meh, I go to a charter school. Uniform requirements are pretty much what everyone else has said, white dress shirt, gray slacks (plaid skirts for the girls), belt, black dress shoes. On Monday we have to wear ties and blazers. I don't mind the blazers, because they only make us wear them once a week and for part of the year, usually while it's cold, so I stay warm, but the ties...

I don't care too much, honestly. As long as I untuck my shirt, I can make it through the day. The teachers don't give a d***.

My old school did. You wore anything and you could have any style/color hair. Now i'm at a school with uniforms.
