Have you ever went to a store and wanted a game that you saw on T.V.? When you went to the aisles that had the game and then you looked below it and saw the price. When your parent or your self said [quote] (You,I) Can't get that it's too expensive. Please tell me why video games are so expensive
Well buy used its what i normally do it knocks normally at least 10$ off and if it does not work just take it back in and swap it out for a new one...and as for the price well think about they have alot of people involved to make the game putting 100's of hours into it and it could take a very long time maybe even a year or two to finish the game theres designers, testers, artists, audio and sound guys, production, legal and a bunch more and the company does not want to just hardly break even so considering how many people it would take and the millions to make it i think the price is about fair
Games cost so much because they take so long to develop. The developers have to work for however long the game is in production, and for that whole time they have to get paid. Also, for a game like MW2, you can get way more playtime than you paid for. You can get so many hours out of a game like that, I think they could have made it 70 and people still would have bought it.
I usually wait until they hit Greatest Hits and the price goes down to $20. You won't be with the most current players, but you'll save $40. If it's a singular game (without any online availability) it shouldn't be a problem.
I still say if a game is above $65 (Resident Evil 5 - $80, I kid you not), then don't even bother buying. Sometimes games are like shoes. However, shoes probably only cost $10 to make yet they (the retailer) mark up the price so high, you're disgusted that they even had the balls to put it on the shelf.
We in Italy, have an HUGE problem with piracy, because normal people - getting 1000 euros per month - can't simply afford to spend that much for videogames; even honest people get a gane every 2 months top. And it burns like hell when you finish it in 10 hours.
But simply dont get the game when it first comes out.
Anyway, I dont think they do cost too much. Just make sure its a good game that you will get alot of hours out of. I do that and I almost ALWAYS get $1 for every hour of gameplay ($0.50 out of a good game). If its a shorter game (like ten hours or so) just rent it or wait until it goes down.
these are all lame excuses, in reality the funding and paying and producing blah blah blah, it would cost them around $20 at most to break even, they charge so much to make money. for example, sneakers, a Nike brand on a sneaker makes it worth $30 more bec. people will pay that to have a check mark on their sheo. it doesn't cost $30 to make a check mark but they will charge you that knowing that we think it cost 80 dollars to make a sheo when it really costs $1 tops including everything
its cuz they put hard work in developing and making the game.... but i still get pissed of cuz of the prices. but if u buy them on steam its probably like 24 dollars for mw2
Well it's not so weird that it cost that much really... i mean they spend a high amount of cash when they make te games and they must get something back or they will be ruined. And it takes up to 2-3 years to make a good game these days
