i enjoy watching family guy very much but ive heard quotes saying "dont take me to a black doctor". in the ep where stewie gets sick when he gets baptism. would this be a mindless joke or a racist thingy?
It's a mindless joke only there to generate laughter from the common masses, including those that are part of that joke. If you cannot take a light-hearted joke from a simple cartoon show, then don't even watch it. No one is stopping you. Things like this is what caused Family Guy to be canceled, except it was Peter wiping from a magazine of a particular institution.
These are also assumed jokes and generalizations that irrational people make that Family Guy shows in order to show them that they need to think a little. They use these jokes to show people what people really do think about certain groups, people, institutions, etc. Not the show itself, but from other people.
I could be wrong, but Family Guy is mostly aimed towards conservatives, especially the immoral laws and regulations that they want to keep and wished was kept. Lesse here, like the episode of when the Griffons stay in Texas for vacationing. Lots of innuendos made there
People really just need to learn how to TAKE A JOKE and not get offended by EVERYTHING they see.. if they cannot i recommend clawing out your eyes and locking yourself in your closet for all eternity :]
It is okay as long as not the whole show is racist. At least they HAVE a black person in their show. And they made another show, the cleveland show, about a black family. So it is not racist, it just makes some racist jokes.
if they werent racist, their audience in the south would just disappear.

Seriously, nothing is racist unless you perceive it that way. I find it a joke, and so do my friends. At lunch we make a little satire about it. It's funny, just like racism.

Family guy was ment to be a show for humour, and how it obtains humour is in alot of diffrent ways. It uses racist jokes alot, but it deosn't aim the racism towards one group. It will have racist jokes split among as many of the diffrent ethnic groups, so everyone gets a good laugh. It makes fun of everyone, and it actually makes a point where what people think of other groups as a stereotype. Family guy is also a good show as it does actualyl give you valuable lfie lesson's, which it is undertoned by the sense of comedy. But if you actualyl look through all the racial slur's and all the sexaul inneundo, you actually do get a good whole hearted message in the program. Hell even one of the episodes said "If you don't like the show don't watch it"
The only problem I have with family guy, is that when the Writer's went on strike. Family guy sucked for a while, but thankfulyl it has retained the writier's, and regained its Comical value. Now then. I believe I have made my point. so gigigigity goooooooooooooooooo. gigity.
Family Guy is very rasist but i think its almost taking the mic out of rasist people (or at least i hope it is). Its still very funny but thats why people love it their not afraid to offend people.
