I know that a lot (maybe even most) of the users here on Armor Games are American based, but I still would like to talk about the upcoming Formula 1 Championship this year!

Who is likely to become champion 2010 with the drivers?; Which team will be champion 2010?; Which rookie team will be doing great in 2010?; What driver will not fullfill the promiss to do great?; What's the best/most beautiful Grand Prix for this year's calendar of F1?; What Grand Prix would you visit if possible?; Etc...

So if there's anyone on Armor interested in this cool, fast and challenging sport... speak up!! =D

Oh, how could I forget... Webber miscalculates his aggression on the opening turn and Vettel slips right in, remaining unchallenged throughout the entire race. Bet Webber kicked himself about that. But worse yet, he could really have taken the lead and kept it had the drill not gotten stuck on the front right wheel in pits, costing him a full four seconds.

Poor Webber lol.

I have toadmit I fell asleep after about 20 laps had gone but I've caught up in the BBC iPlayer.....

IT was a strangely dull race I found probably mainly because of the anticipation of rain that never came. But at least 2 things came from it: Petrov and alguersuari have gone up greatly in my eyes. Alguersuari made some bery determined overtakes (in a sport where overtaking is non-existant eh, Alonso) and Pretov defedning an dattacking Hamilton was a joy to watch (especially for someone who hates Hamilton deeply)...... as for Hamiltons weaving antics I agree with the BBC comentator who said that if it was Schumacher people would be having fits.

But anyway all that is left is too congratulate Redbull and their drivers........ if their reliability issues are half-way fixed they may disapear out of site of the compeitiion soon.

I (sadly) have to agree on the non-eventfulness of this race... where was the rain they promissed us saturday?!?

It all came down to a boring parade with only a few highlights in terms of 'close combat' between some paired drivers. Some battle were fun to watch, especially Alguersari surprised me (again!), he's someone to watch for the future races and seasons to come, trust me! =)

Webber did a fantastic job with conquering the pole on saturday, but got surprised and 'overrun' by the man to beat this season, depending on mechanical strenght of his car of course, Sebastian Vettel! He's turning out to be the one BIG contestor in this championship for the others to beat! Hamilton, Button, Massa, Alonso and Webber (of course), are the ones who will have to try and stop this rocket aiming for this years top prize... =D

I personally dislike all types of racecars so I think that this thread is lame, and I wonder what you people can see in it.

And I wonder why you felt the need to share this with us.

Standard forum etiquette: if you disapprove of a thread, don't waste a post saying so. You should instead create another thread about how you think car racing is lame- this is perfectly acceptable.

I can't help but root for Webber over Vettel. Because Webber is Australian for a start, he's obviously good, and while he's not the most personable character on the track (did you see just how cut he looked after the race? Oh boy, was he cut), he has superb work ethic. And with the dubious honour of being the F1 driver who went the longest before his first win, this makes him an underdog. Much as I hate to admit this though, Vettel simply has more talent and is far more likely to blow everybody away.

About that weaving, I also agree with the commentators: Lewis' weaving was well deserving of a warning. At first I thought he was simply trying to break Petrov's drafting, but then the weaving continued well into the corner and that's when I thought "hey now, that's not cricket". It didn't seem all that sudden on dangerous, but it certainly was against the rules. I also agree that had Schuey done that, he'd have copped a real spray, but this is merely the byproduct of being such a notable figure.

And Alguersari! Passing all the bigwigs like it was nothang! Too bad his car broke down. Best yet, thanks to the horror qualifying for everybody except Red Bull, after the next round, the championship lead could be any of the top ten's (including this rookie).

AND SO THE PLOT THICKENS.

Sorry... accidentally clicked the submit before being done!
(Thanx for distracting me honey... :P)

Alonso turned out to be the next person that got passed down the 'gremlin' to... some messages on the internet were talking about him being stupid for not having consolidated his place and just take the points, but they forget two MAJOR reasons for him to go and try his action on Button:
-He's a racing driver in a ridiculously fast racecar, aiming for the best place to possibly finish a race;
-He's (on personal terms) a perfectionist, which is a good thing in any sport, always trying to maximize his game.
So, personally, I think it's very good of him to just try and overtake Button for 8th place and with that, remain the leader in the rankings of the drivers championship!

As I said before, over time I somehow lost respect for how Alonso is as a person, arrogant and selfish, two character trades in a person I dispise of... but what he managed to do here in 'the hottest race of the season'? Having a heavily damaged Ferrari (believe me, it must have been trying to steer a train with a joystick!) and still being able to catch up on Button at the end of this exhaustive race and then fight him for position is simply awesome, so... with taking the racing point of view on this, there's only one word coming to mind here: Respect!

Sorry to say that further analysis of the race can be cut short in a few lines...

Webber got tricked by his teammate who did a flawless race and deserved to win, no question about that! But he wasn't happy with it... at all! Anyone see the look on his face towards Vettel when the three podium drivers waited to get on stage? If looks could kill... o_0

Rosberg did a great and steady job in defeating his teammate Schumacher for the best position in Qually and is someone who might even turn out to be a competitor for the DS... Schumacher on the other hand still has to find the speed for his racecar, something turning out to be very difficult, but... never impossible!

Leaves us with saluting Adrian Sutil for an surprising, but excellent and seemingly easy result with his Force India F1-Car, never thought this car was that good...
and of course, not to forget the man that skyrocketed from a very bad 20th place to a well deserved 6th place: Hamilton! Great job in maximizing a bad grid place to a points result!

Let's hope the next race will be more like Australia than Malaysia... this was a sad episode in this 2010 F1 season... =S

To point out the current problems in Formula 1... check out this braking problem Sebastian Buemi experienced in the free practice on friday during the China GP!! 0_o

Homevideo brake problem Buemi GP China 2010

It's a bit poor quality, the video that is, but I'm guessing Sebas had his heart exploding in his chest when this happened at 200 kmph!!! =P

Inbetween race update... 'Schumi' is doing great in this rain infested china racing circus! =D
Shows how a few drops of rain here and there can cause a lottery for a Formula 1 GP...

Wonder if he will make it to the end with 5th place (or better) and show the rest of the grid that he's definitely someone to be considered as a threat for fighting the championship this year!

Even Alonso was qouted in an interview for keeping an eye out towards 'Schumi' as a contender... interesting... =)

An eventful race but we can't pray for rain every time. As for some of the major events the Hamilton vs. Vettel thing in the pit lane was great to watch though I don't understand how they didn't get more than a reprimand (I'm not biased but I would have banned Hamilton from the sport :P ), Button stopping almost when the safety car came in was hilarious great to watch everyone look like lemmings following each other off a cliff. Oh an dI loved Hamilton vs. Schumacher I dunno what Schumi is doing wrong this season (except being really quite slow) but his defense of his position was amazing to watch... for all of 2 laps lol.

Yes, you're completely right about the rain, but as the season progresses, the gaps between cars (mechanically and driver wise) will be smaller, so rain is not needed evry single race!

Hamilton vs. Vettel was a bit dissapointing in outcome, I mean... sure it was great to watch, but it should have been judged and dealt with immediately by the race marshalls! What Hamilton did while entering the pit lane was dirty, since Vettel never would have expected him to come alongside while he went in... luckily no crash was made due to this stupid action of his!
Just think of it... if Schumacher would have done such an action, what would have been the outrcome? I think it would have been harder than a reprimand... =P

And Schumacher has proven to be 'in the game' with his battle with Hamilton, but lacks the proper testing he was used to when he was still with Ferrari, that's what's holding him back now I think...

Yes, great action by Button with playing and fooling around with the other cars after the green was given! Button has definitely prooved that he is the right man in the right place every time something eventful happens! He did a perfect job with winning this race... no questions about that! =)

They officially gave Hamilton a 'slap on the whrist' for doing that stupid action during the race towards the pitlane... I somehow can't ever understand what these marshalls are thinking sometimes... @_@

Did you hear that the whole 'circus' is stranded in China because of the ashes cloud coming from Iceland? Funny... ^_^

Allright... next race in Spain is going to be (yet again) a starting grid lead by the Red Bull Racing team... what a surprise?! 0_o
Guess they have a car that is simply unbeatable (for now) it seems!! At least they are matching Mika Hakkinen's great start of the 1999 season where he qualified pole in the first 5 races, see if they can beat that with Webber and Vettel combined!

The McLarens are still going strong with both Hamilton and Button in the front lines and don't forget Alonso who's still unmistakably present with his Ferrari... =)

And the new chassis developed for Schumacher prooves that he's still someone to consider! He has 6th position on the grid and (finally) 'out-quallied' his team mate Roseberg! Let's see if he can make it work this time around! =D

Not sure what to make of the race.... it's not so much that it was boring it just seemed to never get going almost..... but there were a few decent events especially Lewis Hamiltons puncture on the penultimate lap it made me laugh soooo much XD lol
Button was no where near as brave as he should have been behind behind schumacher who seems to be going up and down atm his pace is all over the place
And again I was impressed by Alguesuari (sp) an amazing start but his toro rosso needs some help from their older brothers at Red Bull. Speaking of which OH MY GOD they are so dominant XD Webber may have won but Vettels no breaks drive for the last half-dozen laps was great to see
