Hey, I've been exploring through the forum, community, or whatever you want to call it.

I noticed there was no chatbox, shoutbox, whatever you want to call it.

Me, being a member of tons of blogs, forums, etc. and being an Admin of one, really likes the chatbox feature. It's really a great way to communicate and chill with e-friends.

Reasons why I believe ArmorGames should get a chatbox:

1. Easier to communicate with other members
2. Quicker responding
3. Just plain fun and awesome for the members!

Now, I know what you guys are thinking, what about spammers? Well, over at my forum where I am Admin, we have a "spam protection" thing... it comes with the free shoutbox that's very easy to include to a forum. Sooooo, a user cannot post the same message more than 3 times. But sadly, it cannot, does not, will not, discover other types of spam, which sorta sucks. But hey, then Moderators would be pointless, right?

Hope you read this, and if you did, thanks and let me know what you think.

If you're an administrator then you know the importance of reading the threads to makes sure you don't start a old topic.

Here's what they said, notice how there all locked, just like this one will be soon enough:

LIVE CHAT ANYONE?

HEY I GOT A NEW IDEA: CHATROOMS!

WHAT ABOUT A CHATBOX ON ARMORGAMES?

I'M SURPRISED NO ONE'S THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE: CHATBOX!

HOW ABOUT A CHAT ON ARMORGAMES? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

AS A ADMIN WITH ESPERIENCE, YOU GUYS NEED A CHATBOX!

Chatbox = more mods
More mods = more mods leaving
More mods leaving = more mod replacements
More mod replacements = more work for admins
More work for admins = well, let's just say they don't want to do more work than they have to.

Wait he never said he had "esperience".

No need to be harsh. Even admins, make mistakes.

I have to agree with this.

It's really sad you guys.

All I was trying to do was make a suggestion. If this is how you treat newcomers, I'm just going to leave.

I never said you guys need it. I never I had "esperience" whatever that is.

I realize I made a mistake, you guys are reactive as if I cussed of another member.

Yeah. Armor Games' has a lack of features that most bulletin boards have. That's why newcomers always bombard with questions about chat boxes and other suggestions.

Then people shouldn't reply and go and get some real life interaction with other people so that they can grow a tolerance.

Sorry about that.
Mainly we are against getting back an official chat because it was heavily abused back then. We are only a small group of mods, and an even smaller group of active mods which would mean that we would either need to make new people mods, make a new chat mod-title or as would be the easiest: not have an official chat.
There have been a good amount of unofficial threads, but even the well known of those ended up inactive rather quickly.
While it would be interesting to have a chat, and perhaps would take off some of the pressure on the comments (which are often abused as a chat feature), it would also mean that we perhaps would need to slack on the "no spam" rule we have.
Yes, there is spam protection for people to not simply make a lot of posts in a short time, but how interesting would it be to have a chat where "Is anyone there?" "hello" "Oh, okay" or "Thanks" would be considered spam? It simply doesn't work properly with our policy.
