Do you think there will be another Ice age?

I think not.

Obviously, there will be. Global warming is polluting the air that will trap more heat, the polar ice caps will melt and raise the sea level. A higher sea level will flood all the coastal areas in the world. After that, there will be so much polluted air that it will actually block out the sun's rays and cause another ice age.

The earth has had more ice ages then one. It's a cycle the earth goes through. Of course we will have another ice age.

With global warming continuing at it's current rate? Not likely...

This has been posted many times. almost every post having to do with global warming has at least 1 person replying with the idea of another Ice Age.

The idea of it has it's ups and downs, but me and one of my friends(he's more logical than i am) were having a discussion about the method which most people would phrase as 'Global Warming', which i immediately began to tell him was a crazy idea. But than he started explaining it to me, and i could barely even understand him. But then i brought up the idea of an Ice Age, which shut him down a bit. I believe if it were to happen, which is HIGHLY likely, unless someone happens to blow up the moon, it would send many areas of the world to lower by over 100 degrees in the farenheit scale(i'm not sure how global armorgames is, and if everone on it learns celcius and farenheit, so i'll just stick with farenheit)While others might also decrease. Although it may wipe out a large portion of humanity, it would most likely hold some hope for a good time, probably enough time to figure out how to build a new power source to replace the sun once it burns out, but that's a whole different concept. Most people usually believe either that there WILL be an Ice Age, while all the others most likely think ther WILL NOT be an Ice Age. Me and my friend come up with many conversations, but most just turn out like the others, so i don't have any more to say.

I don't mean to be pedantic but an ice age (depending on your definition) is a time in the earths history when the Earths poles are covered in ice. Technically speaking we are in an ice age now. It is just a warm period in it which is normal.

It is strange that global warming is forcing the Gulf stream to change direction. So the UK will get colder (just our luck) Oh well.

I think one day an ice age is likely but in the mean time warming is our main concern. Ice is exponential. Ice reflects the suns heat making things colder so more ice is formed so more sunlight is bounced back and things get colder etc. If its gets past 30 degrees of the equator it is hard to stop it. but that is about where the shara is so little chance of it happening anytime soon.

In your definition, it will probably be millions of years before it happens. In Pixie's definition, since the earth has not ended yet, I don't think it will be the end of our planet and its inhabitants.

We are long overdue for a "Ice Age", a time when the earths global temperature drops radically. People, you don't have any idea what is happening, do you? Theres was more greenhouse gases released during the Mt. Saint Helens eruption than there has been in 10,000 years of industrial style &quotolution" into earths atmosphere. Theres has always been a "global warming" period before every Ice Age. It is going to happen in the next hundred or so years when "global warming" stops and earth starts to cool down... massively. It has happened literally hundreds of times in the past million years and people are ignorent to think it isn't going to happen? I did a 100,000 word essay in 10th grade on this stuff and im glad i get to use it.

global warming

I prefer to say climate change since it's more of temperature/season extremities.

build a new power source to replace the sun once it burns out

Lol we're gonna die when that happens unless we retreat to a planet past Mars. The sun is going to engulf the first four planets when it goes into it's death cycle.

Well anyway. Like everyone has said, another Ice Age is inevitable. It's a natural part of Earth's life cycle because of factors like I believe it's orbit or something where it tries to level out its axial tilt (ok maybe that doesn't deal with its orbit so much). The shifting of the poles affects the climate of everywhere and leads to drastic change, even more drastic than what's going on now.

Another Ice Age will occur in thousands of years. If it does then people would have to move away from the poles and towards the equator.
Right now though, we are worrying about global warming which will cause flooding.

Yeah... I don't think there will be another ice age, because global warming is already melting a lot of things.

If global warming is real (very debatable[anyone want to?]), it would end the world through a massive storm that would freeze the world..

Kind of weird, but we would not die from burning up, but from freezing. Because all the melting raise water would raise the water level and cause massive sea storms.
