I don't know how many of you know about these groups that protest at funerals from soldiers that died in combat but these people make me sick. If you support the military or not everyone should show some respect which seems the be disappearing today. I think holding signs up at these funerals saying God hates soldiers, all soldiers should die and so on should not be covered under the 1st admendment. Also they claim that soldiers die because there are gay people. What does gay people have to do with soldiers getting killed? These groups are luckly they have not been attacked by friends and family member of dead soldiers. So what do you think should be done about these groups?

This is disgusting, despicable, and just grotesque overall. And I certainly hate the actions they take, but I refuse to hate their opinions and their rights to them. As has been said before, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

To all of you who feel violence is the answer:
They're words. ALL WORDS. You're saying it's acceptable to murder someone because of words? Words have caused wars and countless deaths, but it's not the fault of the one who says them. It's the fault of those who act on them.

A persons words can be just as powerful as their actions.

The whole point of freedom of speech is to allow your opposition to say what they please.

Otherwise, there is no point to it if you only allow those who agree with you to be able to have freedom of speech.

I prefer John Peter Zenger's original "If it's true, then you can say it."

Please, read the book of James on the subject of words.

I'm not being sarcastic and you are entitled to your opinion.

I agree with the court's ruling to remove the protesters 500 feet away from the funerals.

I say shame on the Supreme Court that ruled in favor of the cult that claims to be Christian because Christ would never agree with the way they're acting.

The media is also at fault for giving this cult one second of air time!

That is crossing the line. Those people should be arrested and sentenced to death, they have no grip on reality and are ignorant beyond belief.

I guess theres a limit to Freedom of speech. Like you could say what you want, but don't be offensive or insulting or racist and etc.

True, but does that mean we should all stop talking? Besides, what about the positive words?

No matter what you say, you are offending someone. Besides, that's not freedom at all.

Arrogance isn't a crime, and it shouldn't be.
To me, that statement is arrogant beyond belief, and do I have the right to kill you?

[qoute] No matter what you say, you are offending someone. Besides, that's not freedom at all. [/qoute]

Yea thats the point. It creates a kind of paradox, since its good to be able to say what you think but at the same time it could be harmful. But it does matter what you say, since if you said "I hate apples!" it doesn't offend someone.

They are sick minded people, doing sick minded things. It is way over the line for freedom of speech. Possibly if they did it somewhere else, it would be viewed as just common stupidity beliefs, but right in front of a soilders funeral. Sick, sick, sick.

nothing should be done unless,
it is a private funeral
they are harassing people
being disruptive to the community
other than that you can't just tell a group of people to shut up and make them shut up just bec. u don't support their ideas. as long as they are following the law they can say whatever they want and u just have to put up with it.
