I'm a christian and i hear atheist say to me that the world would be better without religion. I disagree BUT this is not about that. I would like to know how atheist can live their lives everyday knowing as soon as they die they will stop thinking forever and turn into dirt? If i was atheist i would see no motive to move on in life and i would prob. just kill myself or go do whatever i felt like to anyone, knowing there are no other consequences other than death itself. So what is an Atheist motivation to stay alive?
This is mainly for atheist answering my question, please no religion flaming, thank you.
Well, according to more recent scripture, the only mortal sin is saying that you Won't recognise the Holy Spirit, and I've already done that, soooo... woopie!!
Lucifer? Wasn't god's right arm? How is possible that an allknowing being could not see what will happen of him?
Don't you love how the name attributed to the Devil means Light Bringer in Latin? It's as if Christian/Jewish scholars believed that knowledge was evil!.

Not saying, just never accepting before you die. Your still good.

Hrm, harder to defend.
I'd say this mainly means that he brought the knowledge of good and evil to the world; for better or for worse.

Lucifer did no such thing as that in my religion, he just tries to corrupt the souls of the innocent in spite of God. "if i can't be happy, no one can"

Right.
What was the creature that told Eve to eat from the tree of Good and Evil?
I don't care what you "feel" if it isn't biblical your wrong.
Yaa... My screw up on that one. But the bibal is still how you interperate it, as group A whould consider part of the bibal to be hypothetical, group B whould think its all true as you do, group C whould think that a different part is true and the other part is false..

It's all good; happens to the best of us.
Then group B would be correct because it's biblical that the bible is the inspired word of God. Now if your going to ignore that then your just promoting your own belief without evidence.
Context definitely plays a part in biblical laws but that's not the point here.
Christians don't deny anything and it is an ignorant point of veiw bec.
Do you believe in Odin, Zeus, or Allah? How about Mithra or the Mother Goddess? I'm betting you don't. An atheist simply believes in one less deity then you.
Freewill. Argument over.
That kid just picked up a loaded gun! Well if you love him leave him be, he picked it up on his own free will.
Glad I don't love the way God does.
The wages of sin is death.
How does this at all answer the question of hell being fair or not?

There are a number of references in the Bible that seem to indicate knowledge=bad.
Not saying, just never accepting before you die. Your still good.
Pretty sure it said the only thing that isn't forgiven is denying the holy spirit.
I don't care what you "feel" if it isn't biblical your wrong.
I'm getting me some slaves, it ain't wrong.

How do you know it is the inspired word of God?
If there is no evidence to support the claim in the first place then it's reasonable to assume it's false.
That kid just picked up a loaded gun! Well if you love him leave him be, he picked it up on his own free will.
So if you picked up a gun you would want to be forced to put it down? The general rule here applies to love anyway.

I sin (lie) you sin (murder) we're both condemned. It's the great equalizer and is fair, or just, for everyone.
Pretty sure it said the only thing that isn't forgiven is denying the holy spirit.
Right, if your saved (accepted) and you die your forgiven; if your not saved (denied) then you can't be forgiven because you weren't saved in the fist place.
I'm getting me some slaves, it ain't wrong.
A. That's contextual. B. It only applies to an argument with another Christian.

There's plenty of evidence for the validity of the bible (non-miraculous) so that argument falls short. Also if this is the central pillar of God it's reasonable to believe that if it wasn't true (and he exists) that he would have let it be destroyed in the last 2000 odd years.
So if you picked up a gun you would want to be forced to put it down? The general rule here applies to love anyway.
If that someone knew it was only a matter of time before I would shoot myself or someone else with it I would hope they would force me to put it down.

Still not following your connection between death and sin here. There is a huge difference between lying and killing.

Actually I find the whole thing about feeling rather hypocritical considering you base your entire belief on the feeling (rather then evidence) that everything in the Bible is correct. Unless your holding out on me with actual proof God exists.

What evidence?!...Maybe we should take this to the "If God created all things" thread.

Or ask and hint but not force. Learning from hostage situations forcing someone to do something usually doesn't need up good.

All sin is equal as shown by the wages of sin being death, death here refers to spiritual death, or hell, that exists in the present life and in the afterlife.

This deals with God's word not the relationship with Jesus Christ, and more specifically with believers.
Because I can't help myself and the thread is already off topic...
This Evidence
This site is far from being unbiased (There's even a link to buy some christian book on the cite). It is full of spelling errors, which makes it seem like the author did not take time to edit, much less fact check.
It is also full of logical/factual fails such as these: 1) The bible should be taken as an accurate historical document because it was written more recently than the Iliad. I don't think anyone considers the Iliad to be a historical document. It's simply an epic poem, and is full of exagerations and errors. 2) The Bible is accurate because it has a long entry in Encyclopedia Britannica. That is because the British are christian. Also, something can be influential without being accurate. 3) The Bible is accurate because Jesus was a real person. Just because one facet of the bible is true doesn't make the whole thing true.
