So I was reading the latest Armor Blog entry which is an interview with Iroot the web developer for AG and when answering one of the questions he made note of this:

no. because they're stupid, and they cause problems. I could be higher in rank if I wanted to post some bullshit response on every thread, and have meaningless conversations with all the idiots on this site, but tend to not waste my time.
MOderators do nothing but clean up spam. Other then that, they are regular users like you and me. They do not work at the office, they just sit at home, and clean up after you kids.

I don't really care about the button on the profiles, I would like to see the list at the bottom of the community. But only for people who are active in the fomrums in the last five minutes. I don't care if there commenting on games, or tlaking to people. I wanna see who is active in the forums, to see if it is worth the time to post at the momment, or wait till people who you can actually converse with get on.
I also hear they let lige design some of the new features. Includeing spammer missles. If you spam, a missle is fired at your house, and you die. The fuzzy time button, where if you get mad, you just click a button and cute little animals pop up doing the MC hammer, "hammer time" dance.
Yeah the missile idea isn't gonna work out. something about not having the technology.anyway, They're actually letting me kill the spammers personally. YAY!!

First, people will spam even if you imposed the death penalty on it. Points are irrelevant to spam.
Second, poor discussion quality has nothing to do with points, but the idiots typing the posts.
Third, implying that 'everyone' posts for points is ludicrous. I don't, many of the people on here don't. Sure, those 12 year olds in the game comments do, but many people don't.
I hope we don't lose all our data, if we do I'm screwed =.=
