Hello guys, I got this game today and I must say it's pretty awesome.
I feel it's a mixture of Prototype and GTA - you have a lot of freedom and the ability to overwhelm most of the military goons, but there are also challenging parts that come as consequence to your trouble-making. The landscapes are really pretty and diverse (max detail ftw?), and the story is pretty intriguing.
I am not that far into the game yet (3% to be honest. :S), but I am really enjoying the game so far. Currently on the setup of Sniper Rifle to pick off guards in lookout towers and such, and dual wield submachine guns, just because ammo is certainly in abundance and they're pretty powerful weapons for one hand.
Does anyone else play this game? Would you like to share your thoughts? . . . Anyone?
First of all, yay first view and reply ! I haven't got this game yet. But, just by looking on a single gameplay video, its awesome. And you're right, its a mix of prototype and GTA. I think the best features of the game are the grappling hook thingy ?, the parachute and the destruction ! Oh, and where is the set located ? Panau Island ? Where is that ?
There's nothing like advancing through jungles by swinging from tree to tree! Hiding amongst the leaves of huge tropical trees' canopies really gives the game a more espionage feel. The grappling hook is indeed incredibly fun.

I've only used the parachute a bit and I'm not a massive fan of it. If you're not high enough your character loses control and you just descend really slowly.
Oh, and where is the set located ? Panau Island ? Where is that ?
Yeah. Panau Island. It's a large tropical island in the Pacific. You'll know exactly where it is once you start swimming. The seabed is littered with large rocks covered in exotic species of coral and is also filled with many vibrant coloured fishes. the parachute
Haha! In one mission you've got to hijack the president's limousine and as you're driving him off your character automatically engages in a conversation that goes like this:
"Stop this car right now! You do not know who you're messing with." "Mr Theng, if you don't come with me willingly then I'll cut off your hands and bitch slap you with them all the way until we get to where we're going."

I've now got a total time of 9 hours and the game is getting progressively more exciting. Free roaming the island can only keep you entertained for so long - it's the missions that are really fun. Stealing government tanks and then blowing up anything in your way for the next 2 KM of road is ridiculously fun.
I really suggest buying this if you're into action games.
It's a pretty solid game, But I was hugely disappoint in the fact of only about 5-6 true "story" missions. I felt the plot was a bit rushed. But besides that, it's a really awesome game!
Its not that good, It should be called "Just BeCause". If you have nothing else to do, play it.
I think excessive free roam is something you shouldn't do when there are other games to play, but certainly leave a few days just to complete the missions and take a look at the various cities and other settlements.
lol i hear its epic but there is a few bad things, the parachute slowness it can be to epic from some people and melt their eyes 0_o free roamness is to big to much stuff to do and explore plow thru the mobs like crazy tons of mobs
I honestly don't mind the speed of movement when the parachute is open, but even at that speed your character has practically no control over where he's going.
I've found that when going through the jungle (or anywhere with lots of grapple hotspots) you can open parachute, grapple to something, go at really fast speed, open parachute just before you attach to the thing you shot at which makes you float back up and then repeat the cycle. See if it works for you.
Anybody attach an enemy to one of those gas cylinders that fly away as soon as you shoot them?
I saw it done in a JC2 advertisements or montage or something. I haven't done it yet, and didn't know it was possible. The game sure is flexible. Say you attach a person to one of them rockets (which are normally held 3 per rack) and then you shot the rocket does he go flying off behind it? Haha, that would be funny!

Depends what GTA. Definitely better than GTA 1 - God - that game is crap! :P
