I did a Google search for 'Life Sucks' and this is what I got.
It's like a bunch of Goth's, Emo Kids, Atheist, and just downers all came together at a convention and made a site. The site is a very cheery black under red text.
But there are good and informative things. Here is a selection of good articles, explore the other site areas for better articles.
Right but there is no need to generalize atheists as if they have a relation to emos and goths.
But in no way did I mean to relate Atheist to Emo or Goths, just a general populous to making this site. Could you even imagine a Christian agreeing to write out an article for this site?
sarcasm is always an option Krizaz plus occasionally you have the christian/atheist who looks at both sides of the argument and may have been willing to post something on the site.
I can see why it would feel like OP is generalizing, but what he said is true. It is a place where depressed atheists go. In fact, goth and emo are styles, so they shouldn't have even been mentioned. However, them being atheist is merely another quality. Most atheists don't think in such ways.
The website made me want to vomit. It's full of whiny "you have no control over your life" BS. It's like taking a well written article that explains how control works, then taking only the negative stuff out and enhancing it's BS through exaggeration.
The article about God was quite horrible as well. If you don't believe in any god(s), don't talk as if you know what he would/should be like.
"If God existed, he would hate you because he wouldn't let innocent people die if he loved you." How would you know? If you believe in a specific God and you said this, at least it's bouncing off a belief. If you don't then you're simply picking one belief, generalizing it, then bashing it as if it's the only way people can look at life. It's really hard to explain what I mean and I hope this sort of gets my point across.
Interesting, he seems like such a happy soul. Had to agree on the therapy article though. And doesn't he know the reason the government doesn't want you to commit suicide is that they can't tax you when you're dead. Still, if nothing else, he's probably making the alcohol industry very happy.
I read it. All he did was show even more ignorance. Psychologists are supposed to help people change for the good, may it be changing a bad habit or getting over another problem. Help is the key word. If you expect a psychologist to change someone who doesn't think they have a problem, then you are mistaken.
Taken from the big lie article: "The problems of life are all symptoms of the same cause. The locks on your doors which you need to keep out burglars, the schoolyard bully, the serial killer, the drug addict, the drug dealer, the billionaire who thinks he's being exploited by the poor, the millions of soldiers fighting for peace, the enslavement or slaughter of entire races of people, and your own unhappiness, all are interconnected. They are all part of one problem. I wish I could define the problem for you, or offer a solution."
Yeah, I know he won't read this, butI'd just like to say the problem is that he is NOT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP HIMSELF. I have always been bothered by people who sit around, moaning "woe is me, my life sucks, woe, woe, woe" and don't DO anything about their problems. And quite frankly, this is a man (or extremely angsty teenager) who strikes me as one of those people.
I also hate how he thinks he knows what he's talking about in the therapy article. Like he knows more than the scientists who study medicine and brain functionality.
The more I think about this, it reminds me of a video I found on Youtube; [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CjjC7B6v8Y] Seems to sum up what this guy seems like to me fairly well.
