I was playing Nob War of The Elves. I was writing a very long merit worthy comment on it, going mission 1-10 explaining them, pros an cons stuff, then going to an overview.

But when I pressed the 'submit' button, a strange thing happened, my comment didn't show up, I thought it would later, but to test that I went to a different game, played it and made a short 5 word comment. This comment popped up in the bottom about 5 seconds later, my merit worthy comment did not.

Is there a character limit with comments on games? And if so, why restrict it, poor people like me may not be able to know if they're hard work is there or not.

I did check the Nob War game again, after I played a different game, I went to see if the merit worthy comment was there, and guess what, the merit worthy comment wasn't.

Maybe the week needed for the automatic logout ended that moment.

I was logged out when I refreshed the page, but would that have mattered?

Tip: Highlight + copy all of your comment every 2 or 3 sentences to prevent stuff like this from happening. It's the internet, stuff goes wrong, nothing you can do about it.

I copy every single forum post I ever make, simply because more often then not I am logged out.

Yes.

I wouldn't call it 'merit worthy'. Just say review.

Actually, highlight the whole thing before you hit submit. That will work better.

Yes there is, if it's way to long it won't show up. It's rare that someone actually WRITES a comment too long. Your name should show up but not the comment itself if it's too long.

I use the previous page button. Doesn't work on all browsers though.

Did it occur to you that perhaps it disappeared because you wrote a comment shortly before? That might be a reason.

This might also just be a glitch: An error occurred while sending it to AG, and it never reached the server. It must be a very rare thing though, as no one else has reported it.

I quit reading there. You don't write a comment hoping for a merit. Its just not waht there for.

Really long game reviews shouldn't be a problem, to demonstrate:

My game review of 'Cargo Bridge - Armor Games Edition'.
(It's the 25+something numbered post on that page!)

It's been accepted just fine, but I DID write it in another text programm on my computer first and then copy+pasted it to the game comment box and submitted it! =)

That's always the best option to do with making reviews that have a lot of effort put into them...

And I think the problem was with your regular log-out period that happend simultaniously with you pressing submit... bad luck, that's all! :S

Then how come it doesn't affect it when were writing a long post?

MrDayCree, did you go on hiatus?

never call your comments merit worthy, then you never get a merit[quote]

The fact that I called it Merit Worthy was just to emphasize the point that it was a long comment and took playing a flash game for 30min.

it can't log you out until the page is refreshed or you visit another page.

Most of the time, your connection is to blame. And sometimes a site glitch. The solution which is one I use a lot, is to copy and paste to Wordpad, Notepad or any text editor. I've posted longer reviews than MrDayCee's, so the character limit shouldn't be a problem.
