I was recently on Youtube watching a video the other day. It was called Pokemon What Happened To You? It was about the new era of Pokemon versus the older version with the old Gameboy, what does everyone else think about it though?
Here is the link to the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=It6xj40UVRM
I had a feeling this thread was about a kid who was asking what happened to pokemon. Expected also to hear "It was a great show and they ended it to quick." I was about to answer and say they milked it for how many movies? Also it had to end sometime, cause how many would buy those cards till they figured out they wasted thier money?
Ffffffffff, that was an awesome vid. xD Though you possibly have to be a fan to think so.
What happened, though? They molested the franchise to squeeze as much money as possible out of it. Or the creators think that they're really improving the setting by expanding it like they do. Kinda funny how the graphics and style of the concept art is looking neater and cleaner, but the new designs are fugly, mechalike or just plain whut-inducing.
Also, I really wish they'd realize some of their fans have grown up and expand their target audience.
PS: I need to move this thread, I think. Videogames or Popular Media?
It's been what, a decade or so? Been a fan from the first TCG series, was then amused by the anime for a while, then just the critters themselves and fanart... When I can afford it sometime, I'm getting a game. But no sign of being the least bit grown out of the franchise.
I wouldn't say there's a larger chance of growing out of it than there is of normal "forgetting interests you had when you were younger". Some move on quickly, others stick to them most of their lives.

This is why sequels are usually worse than the original.

This also goes along with books. Every single book I've read with a sequel was worse than the original, the only book with a better or good sequel compared to the original was Eldest.
Those sequels were so bad I stopped at the 5th book, couldn't handle the crappyness at the 4th book to go on.
the percy jackson books
I honestly tried reading the first book, way too corny, and I like Greek myths.
the Vladimir Todd books
Read the first 2 or 3, then just stopped, got very bad, the 1st one was very good. I just hate how the 2nd one was just about that russian place, extremely boring.
The Lord Of The Rings books
... They were still very good books after wards.
should I go on?
The Hunger Games
The first one was amazing, all out amazing, I thought there was no way you could screw up the series, until the second book came out. My god the second one was so bad, even the part with the arena was badly written.
hey at least they remade gold and silver? but the company got greedy and made way too many and they felt that ashes adventures were never done and i actually liked the video...minus the suicune part i mean who doesnt know how to pronounce that but yeah it was greed and the sound of money all through the company they just had too make it much better but yes i like how they made more i mean 151 was not alot
