Do you think some of the armor games ads are a bit... showy? I personally am fine with it but i started playing armor games at around 8 and 9 and if i started back then there are probably younger players of the game. This site beats most other sites because it doesnt have as much ads, i moved here from addicting games because of their ads, there were so many. now that AG is getting bigger they need more ads to fuel it, but still :P anyways, some of the ads (DISCRETION ADVISED) I notice very easily to be more on the 'Sex Sells' side of it. For so many RPG games, their ads have something to do with seducing you in. Lets take Evony for example, it always has a girl posing to look sexy saying "You're my lord" or something like that that sounds more like "bang me" (DISCRETION, LEAVE NOW IF NOT OF AGE) and so on. The other ads that aren't as bad as Evony whatever have images of usually girls but it can be both boys and girls but it tends to be a guy in full armor and the only skin thats showing is on the hands and face. with girls, they have half their boobs showing and they are made to look VERY big. This is in almost all ads. im happy to see though at the current ad at the top page is 'mercenary wars' which has nothing showing, so thats good, but yeah. Like how Dan reviews games to see if they're 'armored worthy' i think you should have people to make sure the ads would be suitable for the younger players.
This is more a problem within those games you mentioned. I noticed the ads aswell yes, but AG is pretty powerless in this case. They need the money they get from those sponsors, but those sponsors in their turn make the ads. AG isn't the first site to have those ads, it's just decieving of those games to get more visitors. Problem is, AG can't do anything on this case except for removing those ads. But then there's the financial problem again.
yeah you have points :P i dont have a problem with the ads, i thought younger players shouldnt be exposed to it... is the age limit to join AG set at 13 or not? i forgot :P im sorry, this idea is a bad one. without ur money u'd make us pay and im sure i stand by all AG's that we dont wanna pay :P but i have a personal question going out to anyone who knows this, how much do you get per ad you add in? idk cause if its small like 5 bucks per ad maybe you can ask AGers to give you donations?
ets take Evony for example, it always has a girl posing to look sexy saying "You're my lord" or something like that
And then in other sites, there's one of a girl saying "It makes you feel like a King!" with an extra-bodacious girl sitting in another manner. No wonder they have 15 million registered players with only a few thousand playing!
Anyways, advertisements and webmasters, this is a contract if I'm getting this right. Dan enters a contract with a website saying "allows ads on my website for income (per click per view, whichever)". Since they are giving these websites the right to promote their ads here, they can put whatever kind of ads they want there, within cyber law. In Evony's case, it's the 'get-as-far-to-the-line-as-you-can-within-the-law' principle. They're smart, I'll give them that; they know how to advertise, but their game is a 2-star build-your-own-kingdom concept, AKA bad.
thanks for helping me understand how it works... maybe we can urge the community just to click the ads but close them (ones ur sure dont have viruses... i think netflix has viruses) to help AG get back on its feet? and maybe read what the ad has to say too
RenegadePlayer I think a mod mentiond once that false clicking like that was a bad idea since the ad companies could find and out then there would be trouble.
Personally I see all ads as bad they collect information about you without your consent and the use it for their own purposes.
Well Darkroot, that's only if you submit info. What are they going to use otherwise? IP addresses and cookies? I'm not sure what they could do with that but okaaay... XD

Well as webmasters, they can monitor which IPs accessed the ads and which site they accessed it from. If they are just clicking the ads and closing them, that's not legit 'use' of the ads and can opt to rescind their contract of having the ads on AG. The point of ads is to bring the users to their site to have as much activity as possible. If you just click them to access the home page and quit, with more people of the same site doing the same thing, they are going to be preeety suspicious...not like I haven't done that or anything, ehehehe...
If there are any inappropriate ads on the site, please notify me of them. It would be helpful if you had a good description, or (even better!) a screenshot of the offending advertisement. AG advertises through a third party company, so they are not always directly involved in the ads that appear on the site. Although AG tries to check them all and filter out the inappropriate ones, some slip through the cracks. So if you let me know, I can pass the information on, and the ad can be removed.

You would be amazed by how much information they could collect. Through and ip addresses they could find out what sites you visit what sites you visit most how long you spend on them and where you live throught that find out who you are. This is all theoretical since they most likley wouldn't do that and if you have more than one computer connected to the internet in your house and another person it, it wouldn't work that well.
