Hm.. as a thread of someone is locked, where I posted these two suggestions as an answer, I decided to create a new topic to gain attention on these perhaps not very important but worthwile two issues:

On the front page there are listed all the new games with an icon or some sort of screenshot, right of it in big letters the game name on the first line. The second and third line are reserved for plays and average ratings so far. What I miss is the classification of a game, i.e. if it is an adventure or shooter et cetera and this shoul be places on the second line as the most important information after the name. Plays and ratings could then follow on the third and fourth lines. When someone is an exclusive fan of strategy or adventure and hates shooters then surely he will not want to plunge into a shooter game and it is not always obvious by the name what sort of a game it is.

My second suggestion is I would also like to click on a link on my profile to see all my comments to the games and posts on the community pages to avoid missing an answer or reaction if I could not keep track of all the input that I produced. This could be placed in the list under my armor points, that is
0 games rated
8 comments
9 forum posts
0 games submitted
0 merits

and can be extended on all of the categories above, too, by making a link of e.g. "merits" to see all my merits just with one click. This sort of feature can be seen on many forums in the internet already.

What do you think about them?

That person can just use the categories, which is shows newest games on default.

Not bad

1. When you click the link to that particular game, it will show you what category the game is, like how in this thread, we know that this is in the S&S forum by looking at the directory at the top. It's kinda conspicuous, yes, but that's how most people figure out what type the game is. That, and go to the categories to see if the new game is part of it. Maybe in 3.0, the categories will be more apparent for the new games.

2. This can go good or bad depending on how this idea would be set up. I don't know how it would be made good, but the thought of having the thread name show up along with your forum post and the direct link to your post would sound good to me.

Do I really need to keep track of all my forum posts and comments? Meaning 4500+???

Okay, I do not want to keep track of my comments neither, but I would like to have that option for merits. So you can see why a player gained a merit. Via that way it is easy to look up a good review of a game.

There could be an option where you can choose whether to turn it on or to turn it off.

I've seen this function on other forums, and it works well without problems. For example, Kongregate has that. Don't use the originality thing on me, I'm simply stating.

Though we don't really need that feature though. It'd be handy and nice to have around, but doesn't have too much use unless you're going to delve through it.

I think we should have sub-categories. Or at least something to specify games further.

It is not the question of a 'need' but of user-friendliness and comfort! Probably we don't need much of the things on this site either, but we have them. Why?, because they're good! Like the wheel on your mouse, which you hadn't on mouses of the past century, but now you can't imagine a mouse without a wheel but strictly speaking you don't need it. So, without the links I suggested above I feel like someone took me my wheely mouse away, because I am used to have listed all my comments with one click on other forums, and as you state it is not a problem to have 4500 or more comments to be listed on those sites.

It'd be handy and nice to have around,

Yeahh!! :-)

Things to specify games further like subcategories (e.g., if we divide Adventures further in point&click, rpg, text and so on) is a very good thing, also, and it should be done but as I suggested above it whould also be very nice if the layout were like this:

GAMEICON Name
GAMEICON Category
GAMEICON Plays
GAMEICON Ratings

Currently it is:

GAMEICON Name
GAMEICON Plays
GAMEICON Ratings
GAMEICON

Besides, subcategories exist on other online-gaming sites, already, and in my opinion they contribute to finding the games you like and such raising the quality of a site! On AG so many different games are subsumed e.g. under "Adventures" that I am sometimes disappointed by a game, because it was not the sort of game that I wanted, so "Adventures" is bit to coarse and should be refined, like I stated above. In fact I would say, that this should be the third suggestion in this thread, but this time it is the effort of both, me and knight_34 :-)

You don't seem to agree when I say the mods already have too much to do around. Who will sort the games out then? Make someone else a moderator? And who? Don't think there's a plan like this.

Why shoul I not agree with you on this? What's your problem?

I dunno!! However, perhaps one Moderator dedicates himself to do this job. I know of at least one site where it works, e.g.

http://www.jetztspielen.de/spiele/abenteuer.html

Its a german page where I left clicked left on the Abenteuer (adventure) category and on this page the games are further subclassified, as U can see! Besides, this part of the forum is named "Support and Suggestions" and I make suggestions, not more or less. I would be happy if my suggestions would be implemented, but I don't claim to have the right to order something .

Don't think there's a plan like this.

Perhaps there is one after they read this

Whoa, calm down, I ain't got any problems, I'm just saying what I think. No offense meant in any way.

See what I mean? The mods have too much to do, and none of them really has the time for it as far as I know.

Okay no matter, but I dunno why you are making such fuss about the things, at the end we'll see if they do the job or not, lets wait some time and don't argue about if they have the leasure to do it or not, I think what we do is needless and thats the last thing I'll say about this. Hope we stay friends :-)

Mate, Ofcourse we'll stay friends. I'm only answering your suggestion. That I say I don't think it won't work doesn't mean I don't like you or your idea. I'm only being non Biased. And as far as I can see, the suggestion is nice but won't easily do. It's not a fuss it's the purpose of these topics mate, to discuss them Don't feel offender or anything by me, i'm just discussing it.

Lol, they do this on NG without a hitch. I am tired of the excuses that AG's mods are incapacitated. The subcategory classifications could be put in by someone on AG, before approval of a game, or by the developer while submitting.
