First of all before i say anything i am black myself and i am proud we have the first black president. But is that the only reasons why he was elected? Is anybody paying attention to his belief? im sure if a white guy came up and said "CHANGE!" would anybody listen?

It's odd to me that everyone calls Obama black. He is mixed...

But on point, change is good to me. We can't figure out what doesn't work unless we try it.

Here's the thing about change, it's nothing new. Remember that America is far younger than any nation and the first to build off of a free market. When people say they want to go back to the way things were, they mean they want to go back 50 to 100 years to a system that is newer than any other system in the world. If you follow Obama's plan for change, you will follow him into a government controlled market, something that is not new by any means.

I'm not really the best person to explain how Obama isn't doing anything new, so it's best to ask a history buff about this so called "change".

As it is, the government being dependent on the free market is the newest system that needs to be invested in more. Change is not always good, sometimes change can result in going back a few spaces.

Here's why I dislike Obama's plans. The government gets involved with things they shouldn't be involved with and mess things up. The government creates these problems. The government talks about fixing these problems as the media blames big government. The people turn to the government to fix problems that they started in the first place, resulting in more problems.

I agree with noname. With each new president there will be new beliefs and logics.

A fair point, but historically speaking countries often take large backsteps before moving forward in the proper direction. Of course there are plenty of examples where this is not the case, but let's take the Medeival Ages for example. There were major back steps yet from that point onward humanity has advanced greatly.

As for your healthcare, get with the times. The countries with the leading healthcare systems all run under a universal plan.

Don't be idiotic. The Great Depression is another example of a step back. After the Depression America emerged as a top power in the world.

Exactly. Don't spew idiocy just because you're overly zealous about your country. It isn't an arguement and historically speaking it isn't even credible.

You must be thinking of your mom's home.

Why are we racist? Because we do not like what a half white half black person says? You didn't even bring up a point. You just called us racist, insulted everyone, then left. Congrats, you get the "Second most annoying person on this thread" award.

As for the taking steps back to step forward, I think that is more false then true. For example, the wheel didn't bring anyone back but leaped everyone forward, a more modern example would be the internet. No step back but a leap forward.

Well I was refering more or less to Western History. And like I said the rule doesn't always apply.

The Canadian finds you offensive and annoying. And we'd give you "The Most Annoying Person on This Thread Award" but Andrake already took that. We apologize for the inconveinence.

Samy and I are in agreement with:
Bush's lame duck, for the last two years of his term, mess that by the way; democrats are responsible for not listening to him about the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other government handouts going bust. Bush bashers are so last decade, lol.
Oh, there's one more female candidate to add to the H*ll No list, Pelosi!
Bush inherited Clinton's "Nafta, let's ship your job to Mexico and beyond" program.
Samy, there's just point I don't agree with you about and that is you'll have to back up all the way to Andrew Jackson before you'll find a president that was totally against centralized banking, didn't give a flip about big government or big business. In other words, what we have here...is just a bunch of politicians. Say what you want about any of them but Jackson, even though he almost single-handedly wiped out the Indian population, was true to his word.

Actually the wheel was invented over and over and over again because the technology to make it wasn't taught to future generations until the design was created by Homo sapiens.

The problem with change is that some things need to be changed but some things do not. Unfortunatly the Republicans want to change nothing while the democrats want to change everything; again leaving an obnoxiously large gap in center of the American political spectrum.

Quite. Just attended my Klan meeting tonight, heading over to the Neo-Nazi convention in a week, and proposing to ban all minorities from this country before 2011.

Can we just give both of them the "My name doesn't have any meaning "award?
