Some guys got a problem with this, but theres a trick.
At the beginning of the map cut some trees and put a Den, the temple can be good too but the den has Higher range.
When ever a Ninja comes the den will shoot at it (if its in range).
Then the ninja will automatically use Smoke Bomb for 5 seconds. But it takes 10 seconds for a ninja to get to the gems (i think). So when his 5 seconds are up its actually obvious that at the middle of the map is where your towers are placed. so... dead ninja.

This really works, and the best tower to defeat ninjas are Crypts because when you upgrade them to chilling tower enemies will run away.

And one more when you put the then in the beginning of the map, try counting 5 seconds while following the road. When your sure it will stop there put some towers surrounded by the part.

The Den can also kill a 'normal' ninja in one hit..
you must use Ballista and damage must be above ninjas health..

Ballista is the only tower that deal great damage in one shot.

Getting the freezing ability for crypts will stop things in place including Ninjas, once they escape they become invisible for a few seconds but have enough crypts and it will constantly get frozen B)

the thing that annoys me with ninjas is that if they are with another unit, say 4 ninjas and like 4 knights, if the knights come first, the towers will shoot them, and when the ninjas come, a lot of the time the towers keep shooting at them... i really think there should be less ninja smoke time or no ninjas at all, or even a ninja detection system. they really hurt the game. it is the best tower defense i've played but the ninjas... the freakin ninjas }=(

With short maps the ninja should also have shorter time of smokes. because when its 5 seconds on short maps they can reach the gem. Even though they use it in the beginning of the map.

Short maps like this:
1. Crossroads [should only be 3 seconds because at 5 seconds they reach my gems and they will gonna pass it to each other when one dies].
2. Avenue [2.5 seconds must be]
3. Breakthrough

may i add that the towers that are back need to gain experience too. So in the start build from Back to front. So ur towers in back get enough experience to deal with the Ninja`s. Thats also importend against the assasins. Sometimes they just luck out all towers in the front with no dmg. When the towers in the back are still lvl 1 then they wont do anything either.

- Build from back to front (the first waves usually doesnt contain ninjas and they are quite easy.

-A temple is my choice. even if a ninja is cloaked but still in the dmg area then all it takes is one non cloaked ninja to get them both

-crypts are a bad idea in the back. Their projectiles are too slow for the ninjas Dens are perfect in the back (dont forget them to lvl)

-front tactic Burning temple in the start, 2 crypts and a den. Kills everything (may vary from lvl to lvl)

-in the start dont upgrade much, buy towers and let them gain XP. When u feel the waves are getting harder upgrade.

all in all. Ninjas can be beaten BUT for the Ninja bosses u NEED upgraded meteor and mana (last lvl)

Even with smoke, ninjas are not totally immune to damage, so they can be hit with meteor. Also, they can be hit by ballista and temple(the area damage one) if other units are present.

The easiest way to kill those ninjas is.

First, know which wave they are coming.

Second, put about 4 to 5 towers at the middle of the trail to the base of your gems( if you did not do that already because that is the best way to start the game).

Thrid, put any(does not matter which tower you use but the most rapid shot is best. I let you figer it out yourself) at the biginning of the trail. This will hit those ninjas and force them to use their smoke bomb.

To be sure that non of them touches your gems. Have enough mana to use the Meteor to strike them. The best place to do so is right on top or at the entrance to your gems( make sure you hold shift so you can do multiple strike).

For the champion Ninja. Do the steps above but strike the champ as soon as he show himself, very important not to miss and strike him till you ran out of mana. That will let you pass some of the level until you level up and upgrade.

Hope you guys actually understand what I´ve just wrote and that it helps you!

hey, just want to let you know that that does NOT work.
not all maps are the same length. and, that is no help with ninja champions, or ninja waves in higher levels. this is what you should do...
get strong towers at the front, and if the towers are REALLY strong, then it will kill them right on the first hit. if there are too many ninjas, and you are overpowered, then one of the best solutions is the meteors. and for the champs, then you HAVE to use meteor.
for those of you that are slow, or have bad aim, or have bad timing, no offense, and i'm sorry, but your screwed. =(

Temples are nice vs ninjas since in a wave of ninjas since temples have such fast ROF (well, like constant firing I guess) they can consecutively fire on ninjas to make them go poof at the beginning of levels. While Ballista can OHKO ninjas sometimes, they fire way too slow. So so ninjas will be OHKO'd, and others won't have been hit so they can save their invul for later. I prefer to just force the invul early with the temple, then unleash all hell on them later on (the ROF increase ability helps for this).

Also, the meteor strike ability is mighty useful since it can hit ninjas that are invulnerable to towers and pretty much OHKO them (except for ninja boss, which is a bitch).

i agree. temples are effective against those stupid ninjas... but i think the fully upgraded temple that does the huge area attack is nice too. it will attack a ninja, and if not kkilled, it will be cloked. the next one comes, and the one that was damaged dies if it's still in the temple's range. (most likely it will be)
