I just want to know what peoples opinions are on The Topic. Keep it in a good clean debate please.
Uniforms) I think that there should be uniforms. It would be too much of a hassle otherwise. But they shouldn't be so strict about them...
School Lunches) Some schools serve good lunches, some awful ones. Like we have Chili Crispititos sometimes, that are AMAZING! But today we had ghetto toast. It was leftover hamburger buns with butter, and you can lose a few teeth by taking a bite...
Clean Schools) Our school is so dirty.... it is just... bleh. Then again, it is Historical to the country, so we can't renovate much. But the bathrooms are nasty as crap (literally), The classrooms are cold and drafty, and even though the campus is HUGE, it smells. bad. really really bad. Cost of the stuff at our school is falling apart, but I still love it it has AMAZING archietecture!
Uniforms: No. Not only would it cost either you or your school money, but they are quite pointless and said money could be spent better elsewhere.
The other two:
It comes down to money. Would you rather have a renovated school or good lunch? Preferably, you would get both, but schools are known to be pretty poor. The money would need to come from somewhere, usually the people. You would need the public's support and money.
well, truth be told, you only need 2 shirts, a belt, a pair of shoes, and 2 pairs of pants. And not having them would waste your time cause you would have to pick out all of the stuff to wear for the next day, make sure every thing is clean, and make sure your outfit looks presentable. If you are girl that is... but I wouldn't want to see people walking around with shirts that have vulgar language or rude things on them. i kinda think my time is more important than my money..
And we can't have a renovated school.. we can only add on to it, but soon our school will fall because no one wants to replace anything with the right stuff. I have a feeling that you like money alot, or hate it with a passion... it seems to be the topic of everything you just listed.

False, my old school is getting torn down and replaced. True, it was over a hundred years old, but it proves they can be replaced...

Uniforms are pointless. I went to Catholic school up till 8th grade then went to a public high school. Going to school in pants was one of the best things ever.
Why should we wear uniforms? Because someone might be made fun of? Why don't we place bags over everyone's heads if we're going to be so protective? Most of the time, people are made fun of for how they act and their body before their clothes are laughed at.
The other two points, there's not much to say. Schools cost money. My high school had vending machines that contained sodas, bottled water, Gatoraid, and a few sugary fruit drinks. If you wanted milk, you had to go to the cafeteria either in the morning or during lunch. Even then, they were often expired and they never taste all that good. If you wanted orange juice, you had to get orange "drink", nastiest stuff to hit my tongue. I made a suggestion, but they decided to buy a fence to keep people off some road and off this hill while waiting for the buss (because there was an off chance someone would smoke behind a dumpster). Those paranoid twits.
But I digress, uniforms is a bad idea for public schools. Private, that's a different story.

I made a suggestion, to distribute milk and orange juice in the vending machines as well, but they decided to buy a fence to keep people off some road and off this hill while waiting for the buss (because there was an off chance someone would smoke behind a dumpster).

you lost me there. At my school we aren't allowed to wear skirts. And truthfully, I am glad. I don't want to see any girls (or boys if thats how you roll) privates being flashed to the world.

I read a manga on that once... it was a stupid but good manga... ~back to topic~ That is true... I compromise with you there...
AND YOU HAD SODAS?!?!?! WTF? we have diet drinks and water. Healthy snacks like carrots and ranch cause of the "high rate in obesity of children". What is to keep me from eating 30 pounds of junk food at home? besides parental units...

I meant to say jeans. Oh, and to wear a shirt with Pink Floyd on the front of it, oh such a great moment in my life.
I don't think your school should have a say in what people wear, but how they wear it. If someone wears a skirt, it should be down to the girl's fingertips.
Even though you may dislike skirts, as long as there is someone who will wear them responsibly, they shouldn't make it against the rules to wear them. For an education system who's focus should be the mental development of teenager's brains, they sure suck at their job. I say this because you have to give teenagers a certain amount of freedom. If you don't give them the room to make mistakes, then they will make them when they are adults.
If you want to teach a girl to dress responsibly, it's the parents job to raise her in such way. It's the school's job to mimic a semi-adult world for the students so that they may be forced to make decisions, which is how you learn.
Ah, yes wearing jeans to school is awesome. I like having feild trips out of school, where I can wear jeans to school before we leave.
And I agree on the giving room for mistakes. If you mess up at my school, you get suspended. doesn't matter what for, but if a teacher writes you up, you have to miss the instruction. which is stupid.
That is why I want to go to the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science. You live on campus, living a college kids life basically, and go to school there. ASMS has tougher courses, which would allow me to further my education alot more than a my publich school can. They have punishment for the very bad rules you break, such as vandilism on school property, and such, but they don't mind if you skip a class. They understand if it gets too stressful, and allow you to miss 2 classes every 2 weeks without punishment. but if it extends that point, then you either have to have a good reason, or you are put on probational leave, where you go to a camp like boot camp, but isn't as strict, and doesn't last as long. I reallllllyyyyyy wanna go there, but I gotta bring my ACT score up to a 32. I only have a 30 T_T but I will accomplish it! ^.^
