You have the nice, harmonic melodies with harder sounds similar to heavy metal, but lighter. The vocals are clean (none of that growling or screamo). Some of the melodies are accompanied by the keyboards, who usually plays technical sounds. Most of the themes are based on fantasy or personal struggles, but bands like Sabaton focus on past battles and wars and make a story based of events of such in musical form. Finding the band, like Sabaton, that can pull this off can make you a happy person
Progressive, Alternative, Classical, Jazz, Baroque and a little Indie. I won't say ska and reggae because they are not the main styles of ''the police'' and I usually hate them both. Of course, Baroque could refer to any kind of music except classical but here I'm talking about what is done with an harmony that is not classical.
